Steering wheel shaking violently, need help ASAP!

Going to work, as I took off from a red light, my steering wheel shook violently, seems like it’s coming from my right wheel. I can’t go more than 10mph without the steering wheel shaking like crazy.
I stopped and went to shake the right wheel while the car is on the ground and noticed a lil play and I can kinda hear a rattle noise when I shook it in and out.

I don’t think it’s the bearings cuz I never heard any whirring or humming prior to this happening.

I don’t have time to jack the car up right now cuz I’m at work but can someone please tell me what might be the problem… thanks. I need to fix this problem ASAP or else I might be stuck at work waiting for a tow truck.

Ball joints, bushings, bearing, etc… You’ve done 9/10ths of the diagnosis by determining which wheel it is and that it’s vibrating violently. The other 1/10th is to jack it up, take the wheel off, and look.

K I just jacked up the car and noticed the driver side axle is not spinning evenly. I think it “popped” out of place? My question is, is it safe to drive home (30 minute drive) so I can fix it?

if u jacked the car up
then u could of

take off the axle nut first

and go under and grab the shaft/push it back in if it poped out

lol

30mins drive?thats pretty far

Yeah wished it was that easy… I don’t have any tools whatsoever to work on the car… just a car jack, that’s about it. I’m stuck at work. My cousin’s coming to my workplace along with some tools… hopefully it’s just a popped axle…

K, it was a bad cv joint, stayed at work and installed a new axle, good to go…
