basically my steering wheel does not lock when I turn it when the key is NOT inside the ignition… I can turn the wheel 360 deg. and it still doesnt lock… just wondering if anyone knows what the problem is I tried searching and haven’t found anyone who has the same problem.:rockon:
maybe your steering rack has been broken before? :S
That is what I think. Someone has stolen that car or at least tried sometime during the life of the car. It is not that hard to break those locks if you know what you are doing and have a crowbar available.
No biggie if you can’t fix it. Most car thieves break that lock in a quick minute anyway. No one can tel from the outside it is broken either. Just get some other visual theft deterrents, like a clutch lock, removable steering wheel, and you should be covered for like 30% of the thieves out there.
yea I guess its not necessary… I think it was stolen once before but only the radio was taken… probably got damaged during the ordeal…thanks for the reply’s but if anyone has any info on how to fix the lock then HOLLERRR… haha
i dont think mine locks either…and i’m pretty sure its never been stolen, i’ll have to go check it…how much should it be able to turn before it’ll lock?
about 1/4 turn or less…
