im from ireland have been on the site ages and not many posts hope help everyone out
first time doing a write up so here it goes
took a few hours but well worth it and big big thanks to my uncle rob the brains behind it
so:
-i had a spare set of standard da teg seats which i took off the rails only a few bolts holding them together.
-we measured the recaro seat bolts there are 3 each side of the seat and from bolt centre to centre the distance is 16inches apart.
-now the front holes on the teg chassis is exactly 16’’ but the rear holes are 17.5’’ thus the rails need modifying.
-one side on the rail is flat on top but the other side has 2 brackets attached with rivets so we drilled through these rivets about 4 in total and with the help of a hammer the came off pretty easy.
-next thing is to swap the front ‘L’ offset’d shaped bracket that attaches to the rail with the rear straighter ‘L’ shaped braket.
-this will allow the front hole to stay at 16’’ and the rear offset one will move the rail inwards reducing the 17.5’’ gap closer to 16’’.
-those bracket are held on with a rivet each and a weld that can be seen so drill through it they will pop off hel from hammer again ha.
-do the exact same of the other side reverse the front and rear brackets and that the rail tops are flat.
-we got some nuts and bolts think about 10mm il check exact 2moro that were toughen’d steel to attach the brackets back on.
-one hole matches from rivet that was drilled put bolt in tighten that and then drill the other and bolt it up so theres 2 bolts holding the ‘L’ brackets at each end do the and same on other rail.
-we then bolted both rails down 4 bolts in total and made sure from centre to centre on each rail was 16’’ which it was may need to be tapped with hammer.
-using the hole that is from factory bolt on one side on the rail we measured back 260mm centre to centre and that was where we drilled another hole for the rear recaro bolt and from the front one came back think 25mm for the 2nd bolt,3 altogether on each rail.
-copy the measurement exactly to the other rail.
-now take the rails back off and if measurements are correct and centred the will bolt right upto the recaro seat holes 6 in total.
-then just bolt the seats back in and bingo your done and do it all over again on the other side.
-once we figured out what to do it was preety easy mainly just had good 1/4 steel drill bits chisel and lump hammer and double check measurements.
-heres some pics any questions just ask all cost was my uncles time and few nuts and bolts.
