This has been a very tragic and a painful time for Vang family. Lets hope that no one else has to endure the loss of a loved one, a son, a brother, and a friend. Together, we can draw awareness to the perils of a river like the fraser/chilliwack by putting together funds as well as manpower to lobby legislators to change our river bylaws.
Even though we have lost chris in our physical lives, Chris may be invariably present, so he may still be able to help send a life line to someone else in need.
To do this we have started the Chris Vang preservation of life (foundation) account to raise funds to help the vang family and others who have lost someone in the river. Proceeds will go towards the victim’s families and a campaign to toughen our river safety bylaws.
Help make this a possibility, so that we can give someone the chance Chris never had.
So what does this entail; “toughen our river safety bylaws”, what is being looked at to think about changing?
I am all for donating money in remembrance of Chris however I am likewise against creating more nanny laws restricting access to our natural resources as a result of some ones misfortune.
nanny laws restricting access to our natural resources as a result of some ones misfortune.
Creating laws and educating water safety for fishing the waters of the Fraser River. Many lives are lost in the Fraser River because there is not enough education set out for the community to know the dangers.
It is all about education we know we can’t change laws and regulations, we are not attempting to restrict access to our natural resources. I am a avid fisherman as well and would not want to be prevented from doing what I love. Its about safety and getting word out there, as well as maybe creating safety gear equipped locations in high danger areas also implementing life jacket regulations in those areas so that someone can get a chance at survival with a life line that my brother never had. We are in no way restricting access to anything. Hope that clears things up. And yes it was a misfortune but hey that was my brother. This is something i would not wish upon anyone else that is why we are doing this foundation.
