Sticky - donations to support chris vang's family

UPDATED WITH MIKE’S PAYPAL ADDRESS DONATIONS TOWARDS THE MEMORIAL SERVICE ARE AN OPTION INSTEAD OF PARTS IF YOU WISH
Guys,
Chris Vang’s body has been found as of last night (Sept. 20), may he rest in peace. I would like to set up a fund of sorts to help Mike and Jon Vang (Chris’ brothers, who are both G2IC members) maintain and build Chris’ cars. As we all know Chris was a fanatic on another level than most of us, he owned 5 cars, so he has left a serious task for Mike and Jon, but they are both set on completing Chris’ dream to complete them. That being said, as we all know that can be a costly and time consuming path, so if you all have any part you would be willing to donate, or small amount to send to help, please do so.
I will start off by donating a B20Z block and p72 head to the cause that Mike has been eyeballing every time he visits (yea I saw you Mikey), and will help out as much as I can … let’s help the fellas out guys!

You can send any items to me at work and I will deliver them to Mike and Jon … use this address:

Mike and Jon Vang

Or send a paypal donation to Mike vangkao@hotmail.com.

no way man thats a pretty serious donation steve! thats wicked!
i dont have really many parts to donate because everything i have has gone into my teg that me and chris built… and im very house poor >_<

but i would love to donate my time to building my best friends cars with mike and john. they are my brothers now and it would be an honor to help finish chris’ cars with them!

I work at a local Honda dealership as a parts advisor. I am willing to donate up to $100 dollars in any parts needed to fund and build the project.

Steve. Gimme a shout regarding the details.

RIP Chris

Mike and John know I’m in forsure to help build these cars. I’ve got access to a full shops worth of tools and great friends with one of the best fab worker in town. If there’s anything needed I’ll gladly dig through all our stuff to see if we have anything to help.

A B20V is going to be a good start. Way to go Steve!

Steve,

I have a B18A head that I will donate. Internals are ripped out, but I got a box of spare stuff. Facebook me on when you want me to drop that off when it is both convenience for us.

redlineintegra, does Chris’ family need financial assistance with the memorial service? Seems like that should be priority before fixing up the cars and I didn’t see any mention about financial support of that event. Just want to clear that up. Thanks.

Neil, in talking to Mike they are not looking for donations (monetary) for the service, Mike can reply if they change their mind, but for now all help would be to complete Chris’ projects, which is very important to Mike and Jon.

i have an A1 tranny as well as an LS YS1 tranny. If s standalone is in the plans i have an S100 Hondata. let me know what is needed. Also, i can do photoshoots for these cars for however many times as desired. i’m better with a camera than i am with tools on the car, so i think that would be a better idea.

E-DA9, would you be interested in photoshooting one of Chris’ cars with mine? Chris and I had plans to do a Hiro photoshoot soon, he and I made contact about three weeks ago. I’m so saddened that we never got to it sooner, that I was never able to meet him. Could you do this for me? As for parts to give, I really don’t have much laying around. Maybe I can pay you to do the photoshoot and the money can get donated to Chris’ brothers? Anything I can do to help…

OldskoojdmDA9, ultimately I think we should let Mike and Jon decide about the shoot. But I’m down. You don’t have to pay me; but you can definitely make a donation to the brothers.

i think would be a good idea to post what you need too
didn’t chris have an incomplete oe aero kit? needs a front valance?

UPDATE:
Mike just gave me the info for the memorial service:

Sunday, October 16 8am-12am(midnight) - visitation period to pay respects to Chris.
Monday, October 17 8am-12pm(noon) - visitation, and after 12pm the procession and burial.

Paolo, are you arranging the meet thread? If so the Sunday is a better day, as more members should be able to make it. If not let me know and I can post a meet thread.

Yeah, I totally understand that. I’m not sure how to get ahold of either of them but hopefully I can get an answer someway or another. I just wanted to throw that idea out there since you mentioned you can do photoshoots for his cars. I’d definitely be willing to donate something as well.

What type of parts do you need to get the car finished?

I’m down to help out with the photoshoot as well. Could always use some extra set of hands and lights!

Thanks for that man, it’s appreciated. Chris wanted to do the shoot pretty bad but I never was able to get up there and meet up with him. I hope his brothers are down with this idea as well. Like I said I’ll be more than willing to donate to them as well.

Sweet. You gonna be my coach!

I know its gonna be a lot of work but a list of parts need would really help out. Ive got a slew of parts(new and used) that I would be willing to donate and possibly a little bit of cash.

I am way out of the way but i have parts i wouldn’t mind shipping.
