I’m new to the world of Integra racing/modifying and such. I’ve got a red 1990 Acura Intgra LS, 2 door w/ manual transmission. ALL stock. (but in prestine condition) The only thing not original is the Pionner 200 watt CD deck. I figured, I want 17" momo rims, with Yokohama AVS sport tires, and an exhaust system. (I don’t know which system yet.) I don’t got enough $$ for NOS, or a turbo charger at the moment.
Anyway, what are the first modifications that you guys did to your Integ?
i bought my 92gs straight off the dealer lot with 11 miles on the odo.
drove it for 3 weeks and then dropped it hahahah… stock springs have never back in since LOL… if your looking for your first exp. with all this g2ic madness, i say start doing up your suspension first than work on the power. with the forced induction mods you have plans for, the stock configuration will just not get tha job done.
wheels/tires, springs, intake, header & exhaust are the most common mods.
and lighting mods are not all the rage round these parts, cept for a few “teg-tip” tricks here n there, but dont expect to find the " how to install neons & alteeza’s" tip… LOL.
Man, was that back in 1992? How much did you pay for the Stock '92 GS? My dad paid 6 grand for mine, back in 1993.
What lowered suspension system should I run? If it’s too soft, the car will drive a little sluggish, and if it’s too stiff, acceleration will be better, but traction suffers, as well as the plushness of the ride.
And what do you guys think of Yokohama AVS sport tires? (17") Those things look sick, cuz how thin they look from the side.
whatever suspension your gonna run should be determined on what your gonna be using the car for… EI: weekend dragster, daily driver, show, street racer, etc…
17’s look sweet on G2’s but they do slow you up a bit in the daily driver scene…
then again they allow a lil bit of top speed cause of the bigger overall diameter… :bored:
dood i dunno it’s your ride… DO WHAT CHA LIKE!.. haha
I got a buch of Rice Rocket buddies, and I’d like to show them up, (maybe), but that’ll take some time and $$.
This is my college car, and commuting car, and I’d like to make it look sick at the same time.
Hey, stock, with Octane boost additive mixed with the gas, and Spitfire platinium spark plugs, tightening the wheel lugs, and bringing the tire PSI to 142 each…on highway 12 in CA, I got it up to 124 mph. But it was just sitting there, and not picking up anymore.
I started with a mild drop, for looks and handling. Then A K&N intake, strut tower brace and then the system. The more exspensive stuff like wheels, seats and body kits are less of a priority to me than a killer jam!I have an Eclipse CD player,Eclipse 4 channel for my fronts and rears,Eclipse 2 channel bridged running three 12 OHM MTX Thunder5000 twelves. My amp on the subs only sees 4 OHMS.So she beats like H…L!!!I will start other mods when the $ is right.Good luck on your ride man.Oh,don’t forget the ultra blue headlights! There a cheap way to get much better vision, and they look cool!!!
What tires are you running to put that much in them… I live in AK and the only tires that I see anyone putting more than 90 PSI is a 18 Wheeler and they only go to 200 PSI?
Now either I am just missing out on something or you guys are looking for a blow out. Please explain and 1145 PSI is just crazy?
Thanks AP
If I can go back, I’d get shocks and coil-overs and leave the car at near stock height, get some good tires on 15" wheels and then save for that turbo. You have to fugure that Intake, Exhaust, and header have been proven to gain a mear 9HP, and that was using good name brand stuff like DC and Greddy.
College campus’ and parking structures are the shopping malls of theives. I’ve been broken into 3 times so I would never recommend anyone buying audio stuff anymore, but that’s just me.
145 PSI? I don’t think I am that brave!!!I lived in Anchorage and Eagle River for about six years,I would love to get back!!!Is your car lowerd? What do you do during breakup? When I lived there I drove a 4 by,I could’nt get around in the Civic I had unless they had plowed or everything had melted and was off the road.I wanted something else, but you can’t go to Knik or Jim Creek in a sport compact!!Kinda har to carry pallets.Where do you live in AK?
