hey guys, im trying to get the optional cd player hooked up
the attached pic shows, the top unit is the cd player and the bottom unit is the tape/am/fm
the radio works, but once i plug in the cd player it stops working. is there anythign else that i need to add/plug in?
i scanned the oem manual and there isnt anything there regarding the cd player. did anyone add this to their DA?
There are 2 wires that need to go the stock cassette for play/pause of the cd for it to work properly. Did it come with a t harness for power? the t harness should have those 2 wires. The wires go on the 2 empty slots in the center of the stock connector
it came with a black wire that plugs into the back of the am/fm/cassette player by removing that gray plug. No T harness, although there is another plug at the back of the cd player that i am unsure where to plug in.
The round one you removed the grey cap for is the audio in/out loop, acc power and ground. This could also be used for an equalizer like 86-89 tegs had. Once you plug the cd player into it , the audio is switched by the cd. Does the cd player play when the radio stops working?
Post a picture of the other connector. This should have the wires you need. It might be marked on top of the radio diagram.

ok here are the pictures, the black wire replaces the ‘plug’ on the back of the casette player, but there is a secondary harness that I cannot find in the back of teh car
any help?

looks to me that connector probably was cut of a radio ‘t’ harness. You are going to have wire those up yourself to make it work.
What are all the colors?
I think i see
white/grn constant 12v (12v is usually in white/blue in older hondas but some are wht/grn or wht/yel)
yel/red acc 12v
black ground
red//black lights on12v
grn/wh play or remote
grn/blue play or remote
i was at a salvage yard and i followed that cd harness up the dash, but I couldnt see where it’d ‘t’ into the main harness. i’ll take another look providing that the car is still there
