my car was stolen 2002. I didn’t put any kill switch just a viper alarm. I found it the next day stripped. I bought myself a 92’ gsr three years ago for $500. I spent over $4000 fixing it up. Now I put a gps tracking device in it. Even if your car have a kill switch or a wheel lock. They can always use a tow truck to steal your car that’s why a gps tracking device works the best.
Thats what I tell most people in this situation.
All it takes is a few minutes when you are not around and it can be gone. At least
with GPS they can track it assuming it has not been ripped out of the car.
GPS tracking devices don’t always work. I had a $700 lojack in the last teg. It was NO use at all when it was actually activated. the only reason I got it back was sheer luck that a police car came across the scene where they started to strip it down. even worse when they look at it to find out why it didnt turn on. he couldn’t find anything beside that the back up battery was at less then it capacity left. then I got a hearty FU, “theres nothing we can do, no discount on a new system, no refund, nothing” thankfully and IMO this is the only way to do it if your going to modify a car, the insurance company replaced all my stolen goods cause its has full coverage on it.
Sorry for you loss OP, dont let it discourage you:up:

Yeah thanks did discourage me a lot but maybe someday i will build another da.
I had been working on that one since i was 16 and 3 years later it is gone that is bs.
but once a da lover always a da lover will eventually get back to building one
man thats so messed up! check Craigslist for your stolen items. I found a set of recaro seats that were stolen from me and beat dude up when I went to “see them before buying”
yeah i would do the the same imma be checking often hopefully they come up

Lojack is not really that good because only the authority can locate your car. You can get after market GPS tracking device where you can pin point the location of your stolen car. For the battery issue you can install a separate set of battery designated for the gps tracking device and at the same time the battery will be charged every time your car is on. The location of the gps tracking device plays an important role because you don’t want to put it where thieves can locate it. My suggestion would be somewhere in the headliner where the thieves have to strip your entire car to find it. It’s always better to install it yourself so no one will no where it is at.
Too bad the car didnt fall on the theives when they were stripping it!
