strange... my automatic went to 7k rpm (that's past redline... for u manual ppl)

hehe, i wish it would do that all the time! it was still pulling and it sounded strong at 7k. i had the tranny on S3, the gear change was between second and third. The tranny wasn’t in a shifting transition, it just revved to 7k then shifted. Any idea why??? I tried to make it do it again, but i couldn’t even get it to shift near reline. i guess it’s just because the teg is old. You think there’d be any engine damage (~I highly doubt)? the '94 teg redlines at 6900k… the motor’s a 98 jdm b18b motor that was fully-done (not rebuilt) with less than 30k miles.

dont know much about autos but i think (dont know whats it called) the shifting sensor or the selenoid in the tranny. :confused:

I took a little ride last week with member McExtra who also has an auto and his tranny shifted a little past redline each time he was gunning it! Don’t know if it’s normal or not, but his has always done this.
