Just recently (2 1/2 weeks ago) I’ve become a new proud owner of a 91 DA, which brought me back into HONDA, I left Honda for about 8 months or so, and went german, hence the member name “HonDub9105” (VW 05 GTI 1.8T), anyway. I know when brakes need to be replaced or fixed, cause you’ll hear squeeking etc, when applying pressure on the brakes. But in my situation its seems very awkward. But while Im driving for a good 10-15 mins and using the brakes when necessary, I will hear this sequence of buzzing like, “ZZZ” pause “ZZZZZZZ” pause “ZZZZZZZZ” sound only when I use the brakes, then after 10 seconds or so of that annoying sound it becomes one continuous note, “ZZZZZ, EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” then immediately stops once I press the brake again and disappears, but will occur again randomly while driving and using the brakes, the motor and tranny run completely fine though. Its obvious the brakes are the issue, but what part of the brakes would cause such irritating noise.
Ttt!
Seems like the tattle tale sounds of the brake pads being worn down to where the scratcher bar is rubbing, if the sound of EHHHHH! is high pitched. Other than that, there is the dust shield (a thin metal pan that keeps road crap out), on the inside of the steering knuckle, that could be bent and rubbing the rotor or rim, if the noise is lower pitched. Also check for gravel chunks hung up in the same area. Good luck and let us know.:read:
