stumped with a suspension issue

When i got my 90 ls back in July of 2012, i have been attempting to fix all the stuff the previous owner half assed. When i got the car it was lowered on coilovers and i thought it was still to high. So after i lowered it another 2" for a total of 3.5" drop. With that said at 55-70 mph i notice a shake that feels like its coming from the front passenger side. You can’t notice it at 35-40mph. So at first i thought it may be the tie rod ends and ball joints so i replaced them and no change. Only thing I’ve noticed is the bottom bushing for the top hat(strut mount) is missing on the drivers side ( nite sure of passenger side haven’t tore it down yet) and the metal insert was missing. If it is missing on the passenger side could this be causing my shake issue. Any and all input Will be appreciated. Sorry for the ling winded post.

Wheel bearing?

Out of balance tires?

If you have pieces “missing” from your strut assembly, then yes, that is also a problem.

It sounds like an out of balance tire to me. Although you definitely don’t want there to be any missing pieces in your suspension I wouldnt expect that to cause the vibration at consistent speed.

i’m going to bet you could be having some axle issues

Wheel bearings aren’t making any noises. I had the tires balanced and it did help some. I noticed it after i lowered it some more. Im going to find the missing bushing and replace them as soon as i can.

ask them to look at the wheel too while they are balancing the wheel/tire combo…could easily be a bent wheel

im going to agree and say axle issue, id try and get a bushing and the metal piece back I the top hat too

Im going to fix the top hat issue Saturday. Im going to double check the tie rod ends and ball joints again. Ill post updates. Please jeep suggestions coming

axles tend to go out quicker the lower you go.
same reason I dont slam mine, I have a good half inch gap from my tire to fender and im on 195, 55, 15

axles also tend to bind, which results in vibration…i know of this because of my maxima…i dont have that problem as of yet in my integra

I have about the same tire to fender gap as well. Im also on 195/55/15’s. My eg8 was lower than the da and didn’t have any issues Im really just stumped lol

Motors sit lower in the DA engine bay than in other chassis… making axles more likely to bind.
