I have a 91 integra with a b16 in it. I have recently picked up a problem with the car hesitating and not wanting to rev. It doesn’t happen when the car is cold, but when it heats up it starts. The plugs are fine. I don’t know where to look next.
fuel pump, fuel filter. your not getting enough fuel to the cylinders. i’ve had the problem before on the teg and an oldsmobile. the teg, it was a clogged fuel filter and the oldsmobile, the primary carb. was somehow leaned out.
the fuel filter was replaced when the engine was put in like say 20k miles ago. If it was the pump why wouldn’t it do it when the car was still cold?
i would still check the filter. just because it was changed 20k miles ago, doesn;t mean crap couldn’t have gotten in. i don’t know what else it could be. clogged injectors?? hell, try some techron cleaner. and then use a hi-qualilty fuel such as chevron, shell or texaco. not all fuel is the same. those are the companies with the best additives. whatever it is, its the fuel system.
Same problem
I have the same problem…91 with a B16 sputters only when warm. Until 3K…then boom all set. I have tried everything…and dont know. Next thing I am going to replace is the injectors. I have tried a new MAP sensor, timing on distributor, new spark plugs. Let me know if you figure it out. I also have a brandy new fuel filter in mine.
I had a stutter problem before. And it was injectors then. But they were sent out to rc, I doubt thats to problem either. If the o2 sensor was going bad would it throw a check engine light?
1-02 sensor
I only have 1 02 sensor hooked up to the b16, i heard it needs 2, but it was driving fine for the last 5 months…what do you think?
I also have 2 wires going to one o2 and mine had been running well, whatever the problem is it’s most likely the same.
02 sensor
No i only have 1 wire hooked up to an 02 sensor…should I hook up another wire and run it to C08 and C16 on the ECU pinout??? If so how do I do this?
wasdedteg
did you ever solve this problem… i’ve got it too
yes
It was a code23 knock sensor and I installed a Mugen N1 chip in my PR3 ecu that disables the knock sensor and car ran fine after that. Good luck.
My car does the same thing cept its a b20b…must be a problem with the injectors? Who knows. IM gonna try to clean them out today.
did you use the jdm distributor that came with the b16? if so they are known to give problems after a certain amount of time, try using your ls distributor, i had the same problem and that was the fix also check you vaccum hoses and the o2 sensor wiring
Now I think that its the cap and rotor on the distributor…i replaced the fuel filter, fixed my exhaust leak, and added fuel injector cleaner and that still didnt help it. Weird part is tho that it functioned fine before i put the new engine in, so what gives?

where did u get the mugen n1 chip?
hey!
i need to figure out what causes that to, my friend taht i helped swap a 5.0l in his stang, is havin the same probs, i told him it was either his fuel pump, filter, fpr, injectors, or o2 sensors… bu i dont think its o2 sensors… really need to figure out what it is to get his car runnin great!!! his happens around 4k… AFTER it gets warm…
