alright, well i have 2 jbl 12inch subs and jbl 300 wat amp. ive always wanted to have a good sound system in my car but i have no idea how to hook up and sub and amp. right now i have a basic pioneer cd player and pioneer front and rear speakers installed. i also have the long wire that goes from the battery to the sub or amp (which ever) and it has a fuse in the middle of it. im not sure what else i need or how to hook thease up. need a little assistance on this… thanks guys
just run the rc wires from the amp to the back of the cd player. Hook up the power and ground to the amp. and wire in the subs to the input on the amplifier. Its very easy to do. Just run the wires so you cant see them, under the plastic panels. Then just mount the amp and subs where you want them and your done
alright. my friend was telling me about some remote wire or somthing. do you know what thats about? do i need it?
On the back of the head unit. There should be a blue remote turn on wire on the harness. You connect a wire to that and run it to the remote on your amp. Usually beside the - and + outputs on the amp. And yes you do need it.it tells the amp when to turn on and off.
Also Nick run your RCA cables down one side of the car and the power&remote wire down the
other side. Some might say you don’t have to but it’s cheap insurance to keep engine whine out of your subs.
You could always come down to Lakewood and pay me to do it. lol.:naughty:

YES.also do this!
thanks for the heads up teg. so how many rca cables do i need if im putting in 2 subs? just one? aslo i ran the power wire on the pass side of my car. should i run the rca cables on the drivers side? can i just run the remote wire down the pass side aswell? and i run the remote wire from the cd player to the amp correct??
The RCA cables are paired, meaning left and right, so if your only running one amp with two
channels again left and right then yes you only need one set of RCA’s. The remote wire “small
blue” wire, yes run it with the power cable. As long as the power is on one side of the car and the RCA’s are down the other your golden. The remote wire goes from the back of the cd player
to the amp yes. The remote wire is easy to spot, it’s the blue wire, if your cd player is a Sony it should have a blue wire and a blue with a white stripe, connect to the straight blue wire, if you mix it up your amp will only come on when your cd player is in radio mode. The reason for this is so the antenna only goes up when you listen to regular radio.
Hope I didn’t over load ya.
Also remember put the big fuse at the battery in LAST right before you fire the system up.
Good luck.
