sub question

just bought 2 sony xplod 12’ subs off ebay and wanted
2 know how many amps do I need to power them

Thanks! :burnout:

Just buy a Sony Explode two channel amp and you’ll have no worries…sorry but I hate that Explode stuff. That huge ass “X” bothers the crap out of me…

Just to let you know and I’m not flaming you for getting them…but Xplode is absolute trash and I suggest you sell them and get something else. You can use your money much more wiselly than two xplod 12’s.

If you are going to sell them, let me know what you are looking for out of a sub or subs and I can reccomend a very nice set-up that is probablly cheaper than those explodes.

Now, to your question. You can get a two channell bridgable amp, or a mono class D amp. What ohm configuration are they (i.e. single 4 ohm, dual 2 ohm, dual 4 ohm, etc.)? What are the box requirements(i.e. sealed: 1.0 ft^3. - 2.5ft^3…ported: 2.0ft^3-3.5ft^3)?

If you can give me those, I can reccomend a nice amp and box on the cheap:)

yea screw the explodes, they suck, get some pioneer IMPP’s i got two 12’s IMPP’s with two american pro 600 watt ams 2 channels each, needless to say, they hit!!!, they hit so hard i have to turn the bass boost all the way down on my amps. they are inexpensive and have a clean sound. get them

No problem man. Okay, lets start with a price range, and what you’re looking for in the bass (i.e.punchy,low,just plain loud, clean and blend well, etc.). Than I can reccomend a sub or pair of subs, box, and amp for your applicatation.
