I’ve seen that done to a crx like ten years ago. But his quater panel was f-ed up because his door unlatched on i95 and bent almost all the way back from the wind at a high speed :down:

you’re not getting it. re-read what i wrote and then re-read your response. also, there is a big difference in someone getting a door slammed into them by a car coming from behind vs someone getting a door ripped off of their car and not getting hit by it. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter since the OP will do whatever the hell he wants. either way, good luck and be safe!

but basicly what your saying is if someone is standing outside there car and dont notice another comeing up, they can get killed by the door being hit into them.
the same person would still get hit if he didnt have a suicide door because he was standing outside without a clue. i still say its the persons fault for not paying attention and in no part the doors fault

you’re not visualizing it. or getting it. not just standing, but in the frocess of opening it or having a door open. i challenge you to open the door on your teg and see how far it opens out. then, imagine what would happen if a car were to clip it as you are opening it or once it’s fully open and you start stepping out. then imagine what would happen if you were opening the door the opposite way. there is a good example of what i’m talking about in the “whatnow.com” commercials. i’m done. rant over.

There was an Integra our body style that did one door. It was a very long time ago. That was before the so called suicide hinges came out. The aftermarket hinges are an easy way to do it but is rather ghetto to me. To do it right, you need swap the factory hinges and latches front to rear, make a striker mount/fender filler, and reinforce all of that plus the rear door jamb. It is alot of work and very few can do it properly. Not to mention the going rate it $1500 a door done right.
hey whats up guys im a new member but i’ve had my DA for about 3years now. I have suicide doors and ilove every bit of them. To me the DA is old enough to incorporate some old school styling i.e suicide doors/shaved handles both of which i have done to my DA myself. But, this is no diy for the average joe… It took me close to 6 months to get these doors perfect or atleast damn close. Since the doors on our cars ( DA owners) are very long they put ALOTTTT of stress on the hinges which is why i welded some what of a “frame structure” behind the backseat armrest to help the hinges support all the weight of the door. Looking back on in it i am happy with this mod. Some hate it some love it but at the end of the day it all comes down to who owns the car? (me) do you like it ( you bet ure a$$ i do!:rockon:)
