So I’m looking to finally do my suspension, stock height is just not right lol. I’d like to have it sitting dirty, slammed. But the roads here are just shitty as all hell. Should I just go with some springs, or get adjustable shocks with some sleeves?
Send me your input!
Keep in mind, SHITTY ROADS lol
Budget… maybe 8-900 at the high end. Depends on the setup
Sorry guy. Slamming it will give shitty ride quality. To make it worse with them shitty roads. Just lower it a little. I’d say.
Unless there are some new technology out there that will make your car feel like stock with it being dirty slammed, let me in on this. I never messed around with different springs and shocks. I had my Koni yellows with neuspeed springs for more than 10 years. Hitting the light reflectors on the freeway always sounded hard. Oh well.
Well I should further explain lol. Back in my DB, rollin down the highway @ 65mph I almost lost it. It was slammed but really bouncy. I. Hit a series of small humps in the road and the car just kinda hopped up n kicked out n it got squirly, weird for fwd I thought… so I don’t want anything like that lol
get a quality suspension and quality tires if you don’t want that happening again. the roads in Quebec are disgusting and for sure worst then Minnesota and I had no problem daily driving with about a 3.5" drop. basically no wheel gap whatever that equals to as a drop. can’t go wrong with some eibach or neuspeed race springs and a tokico illumina or koni yellow shock. if you want something adjustable the cheapest i would go in coilovers is the skunk2 pro s or function and form type 1 which is in the 600-700$ range. i would recomend the koni/gc combo over those but that combo is a little over your budget i believe.
I also recommend the GC/Koni combo. It used to be the best value per dollar combo ever! It’s more expensive now because of the high demand, but IMO still worth it. You get quality shocks + custom spring rates + full adjustability. The off-the-shelf spring rates by GC are pretty good if your looking for ride quality.
No they are optional. You can reuse your stock tophats. The extended tophats allow the shock piston to sit up higher at rest. This will allow them to last longer and have a better range of travel on lowered cars.
