i have a 92 gs and a 91 rs. what i was wondering was can i take my gs door panels and electric window motors/locks and all that and swap it into my rs?now im sure i can but i was wondering what the difficulty of this was?
the reason im doing this is because my gs has a black interior and my rs has the palmy blue interior. since my rs car is my project car and my gs is my daily driver/winter beater i dont really care if it has manual windows and a blue interior.
everything is exchangable, just tat you will probably have to wire up the power options, which will be pretty hard i think no sure still in the debating process of adding power to my LS… but why would u want power options when you have no moonroof, mite as well just keep the manual options…
what does the moonroof have to do with wanting power locks and windows haha??i hate having to reach over to unlock the passenger door. or even worst, if im driving around and i want to open the passenger window.
yea me too… still wanting to change over to power but don’t have to much knowlegde of wiring it up… if u have any luck hit me back, got power doors awaiting installment…
I think its relatively easy…its just sourcing the complete setup is hard. Just tap into a power line out of your fusebox and you’re set. I kinda want power windows and locks too. i hate reminding my passengers to lock the door when they leave.
The push-button climate control unit found in pretty much everything but the RS is a much more difficult project. You have to get the motors for every little thing and take out the cables.
you may get the full service manual for the 90-93 integra off hondahookup.com. I will not scan or post pictures of the manual here (as per forum rules).
heres what the previous owner did to get the power windows in my RS. Might i tell you its very ghetto but works.
i dont know what wires they took but here it is in general.
They took the wires from the p/w harness from the passenger and driver along with another wire (which wraps around a 15V fuse for power) and twisted them all together.
The windows work and bother switch also. Again this is very ghetto way to do it. i would have rather done it correctly buy getting all the relays but they did this way before i got the car.
the door harness can be changed and wired in, it runs under the seats and plugs into a blue plug on the side of the fuse box, i just cut the old non power harness off of that plug and wiredthe power options harness into there. but i’m also switching doors.
so in the rs theres the harness for the power windows and locks??and you just need the modules and relays and whatever it comes with for the windows/locks to work?
