Alright so I bought my DA back in August and it came with a JDM gauge cluster in it. I don’t like it. It’s not practical. I just don’t care all that much about being JDM. I care about being functional. Anywho I’m gonna take it out but I have a couple of questions. When you put a JDM cluster in, is it just plug and play or would they have had to splice wires or something? I would think it’s plug and play but ya never know. I don’t want any surprises. Also, what the easiest way to get the gauge cluster out? I have a copy of the Honda manual and it says I have to take out the climate control and all. Is there an easier way or am I gonna have to follow the manual?
Its just plug and play. To get it out,you will need to take the black cover off. There are screws by the climate control but you don’t need to take it out, just the screws. After taking the black housing off, there are 2 more screws over the cluster. After all screws are out,pop the hood and on-clip the speed cable and push about an inch of it threw the firewall so you have slack. Then just on-clip the speed cable from the cluster and wires.
hey will u sell the jdm cluster i wold love to have it… cus i dont have a cluster at all lol
Ok the only screw I can’t find is the one circled in red. I’m afraid that because the guy before put carbon fiber trim all the way around the front af the dash that it has that screw covered up. I don’t know maybe I’m crazy. That’s the only problem that I am having right now is not being able to find that screw
Yeah it’ll be up for sale once I get it out. Just be looking for it in the FS section.
That one is under the bottom cover that the ashtray is on. You need to take that off 2 to get to it.
Ah I see. I’m gonna tackle it this Thursday on my day off with a buddy. Hopefully we can get it done.
