Switching Stock Head Units

I am looking to put a stock acura cassette radio back in my DA but are there other Stock Head Units (Acura or Honda) that will fit and if not how hard would it be to do the wiring?

I mean could i get one from a newerer integra, or a perhaps a legend?

I’d like one that puts out a bit better sound since i put 6.5’s all around on the inside instead of the 5.25s

Most Honda/Acura HUs up to 98 and some Integra up to 01 will work, plugs are the same, mounting the HU will be the issue.

G2 HUs use a rear brace mounting system with the stock pocket mounting to the HU and both being held in place by the rear mounts if the HU.

As for a better sounding one, the only thing you will find is a CD player, instead of a cass., will sound a little better, main reason is OEM HUs have very little power compared to aftermarket HUs.94

How could i make it sound better? i know there are aftermarket Cassette players but i want the stock look and am so tired of messing with shotty FM transmitters,

I need to get all up in there anyway cuz my cd player now is giving me a problem with the front left cutting out until i reached in that pocket and lift it up, Loose wire im guessing, i can only imagine what the yahoo before me did back there…

itd be cool to have the car bumping good but look stock, no subs just good 6.5s all around i mean by bumpin

The main thing lacking is power, if you can get a good HU, [CD preferably] you can install something like this…
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_cleansweep_pages.php?page_id=94 then you can add a small 4ch amp to drive the aftermarket speakers.

You can also, [if on a budget] just find a 4ch amp with speaker level inputs or any 4ch amp and a LOC… http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID1/151/sfID2/159/sfID3/272/productID/999

Any of the above will work, for best SQ the JL Audio CleanSweep CL441dsp would be the way to go.94

How would i use this with speakers in the doors and back deck? I see a remote wire but 4 ports that look like the ones for RC cables.

The current speakers i have right now are cheapos, they dont have the plug, they have the two little metal pieces your push that mini clamp thing onto, it was right for the vehicle but i guess its not AS good as it could be cuz I’ve had some Polks and they had an actual plug.

Can i splice on some plugs? I only ask becuase my front right speakers isnt cranking out bass like the other 3 and i think its becuase the little metal prongs on it have broken off somewhat so there is very little wiggle room for the cars clamp piece to stay on ya know. I think thats why its not performing as it should, god only knows how id fix that.

but plugs, anyone done it?

How would i use this with speakers in the doors and back deck?
A stock HU connected to the CleanSweep… http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/11196.pdf then the RCA outputs of the CleanSweep connected to a 4ch amp and then the amp connected to the speakers.

You would have to run new speaker wire to the speakers from the amp and crimp on the proper terminals.94
