Sylvania Silverstar's

I was getting tired of my stock headlight bulbs(too yellow).I did a bit of research found that Sylvania’s Silverstar would be the best for my stock setup.Wow what a difference.Nice and bright, really white. It not as good as HID or JDM’s but for me and my stock lights a worthwhile investment much better then the CoolBlue’s IMHO.The hardest part was finding a local dealer in Toronto.$30 Canadian.I just have to see how long they last. The bulbs that I took out are the factory bulbs that came with the car when I bought it new.Not bad for 11 years.

just bought them and returned them immediatly, looked like stock. :vomit:

yah they are really not white at all but they do light up th e road pretty well. if you got the sylvanna reg silverstar it’s only 30% better than stock but the OSRAM or the Phillips one are about 50% and for even cheaper… however i beleive as of right now they are only avaialable fo rlike h-1 h-3 and h-4. i’ve seen them and they are real nice. o yah for those that wants to buy a set of these plz don’t… i don’t hate them but go to e-bay and do a serach on phillips bulb or if you can’t find them let me know and i’ll get a set for you for like 15 bucks shipped. they are just as bright as the piaa extreme white and has almos tthe same color. i had them and put them side by side = same visibility and color… and the quality the piaa looks like it was better made but hey for 15 bucks a pair u can’t beat it.

o yah the 9007 are also 30% brighter than 9004 so u can use that too if you want all it requires is a lil swap in wires very simple to get another 30% out of stock headlights…

if anyone want i can get a pic of the phillips bulbs and post it hehe i have quite a few bulbs sitting in my room… god i feel like such a ricer but hopefully u guys can understand where i’m coming from with the weak ass stock usdm headlights on our cars.

o yah the silversta i heard only last about 1 year or so normally.

I am interested in upgrading my headlights, I have silverstar’s in but your correct the 9004 suck big time, I have really poor visabiliy when I have high beams on but in low they are decent at best, I end up driving with my fogs and low beams on now to get drivable visability at night. Anyhow what is the best buld to get? What would you say would be best to upgrade to to get better visability for cheap lol?

i got silverstar 9004 and they blow also.
hopefully i’ll be going to one pieces soon so i will be getting rid of these pieces of crap. get me some bright ass H4H’s…

I’m goingto check out those Philips bulbs I’ve been looking around for some new bulbs for my girls car (civic) Alot of the ones around here are questionable. Also been looking for some good ion yellows but none around here. Good ole OR sees alot of fog and we travel alot.

OK… I was at a parts store today, and saw Phillips 9007 for about $13 each
Now, it said high-visibility with 30% more light than regular 9007.
Is this what you are talking about? or is it a different kind?
I don’t care too much about the light being all white or whatnot, but I just can’t see shit with my stock 9004’s.
And one of my bulbs went out today, so i guess I’ll get something brighter while I’m at it…
Please enlighten me.

i have the sylvania’s silverstars… and they are great…although they look yellow next to other cars who have bulbs like matrix or ebay bulbs… they look good!!! they definitely light the road up…way better than stock… great upgrade if you’re looking for clean looking lights… i would prefer these over any cheap ebay lights!!!

dont diss the ebay bulbs… if we could get enuf people here wanted them (the lifetime warrenty ones) i could setup a thing with euro dezigns they would sell them for $5/set+shipping

compared to $35-40 for a set of silverstars at autozone or a parts store… u can buy 3 sets… incase they burn out quicker… and just send them in as they burn out and never run out

radzer0, I thought you had HID.

really??? i interested if thats the case=D

compain to the company if u think it shouldnt say hid or whatever…

did’nt know this would get resurrected. anyways the phillips bulbs i am talking about are not the same ones you see on the shelves. the ones i had were euro spec ones and can only be imported from their. like i said they are good as piaa extreme whites. i had them side by side and also replace them individually and saw no difference at all. I pu them in my brothers car and it was sold so there is no way i can show u a picture. but when i get home today i will go and check my old e-mails to see if i can still find the vendor for you guys.

That would be great.

$5 a set? I’d be up for that…

the deal with the $5 is… i would have to order 20 sets sent to me… than i would have to ship them to the people who want too… or someone else here that we all trust can buy the 20 and ship them to where they go… because im sure some of u wouldnt trust me for some reason or another and think id take your money
