when i shift into third gear, sometime i get this rub, kinda like i rdinded the gear, but not nearly as bad, just a little rub. is it possible that the syncros are off? is that what the deal is? if so how do i go about fixing it?
Try double-clutching to see if it eliminate the grind. You could also try replacing your tranny fluid which helps a lot.

yea i will try changing the fluid. but whe i dubble clutch or shift very slowly, it doesnt do it, which makes me thing its the syncros…?
Well, from what you’re telling me, it does sound like the synchro. Did you do any tranny work at all within the past year? Or any tranny work for that matter! Just be aware that replacing the tranny fluid temporarily fixes the problem.

no i havent done ny tranny work at all. ill try changing the fluid and see if that does it.

Ummm…try Honda MTF. Many swear by it. I’ve used only Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic 10W30 since I only had one chance to change my tranny fluid. I believe others have said AMSOIL, BG Synchroshift, Redline, and GM Synchromesh work really well. Just stick to a 10W30 grade motor oil and a quality brand name, and you’ll be fine. If that doesn’t fix the problem, then most likely it’s your tranny.
BTW, how hard do you shift? How often do you shift? And at what revs do you normally shift at?

I had the grinding only at high rpm shifts.I tried 10w30 synthetic and I still had the problem.I then tried 5w50 synthetic and the noise very rarely happens.
