i am in the process of installing a monster tac. and didn’t want to hook the wire into the blue wire on the distributor so i found a blue wire with the same guage that was right by the firewall and i took a risk and connected the tac wire into that wire…but the tac then moved up to idle…but when i reved it was delayed and got a real weak signal and wasn’t accurate…i was wondering if that was the wrong wire…or why the signal was so weak…should i go ahead to connect to the wire coming right out of the distribitor…is that the only way? any help would be appreciated…

Connect it to the rpm wire that goes into your ecu. You should be able to get a good connection there.
what color is that wire?
