tac/shiftlight installation

question i have 5 wires coming out the tac/shiftlight…there is a green, black, red, and then two pink wires…i’m pretty sure the black one goes to the ground, the redone goes to the power and the green one goes to the distributor, but i have no clue where the pink ones goo…do they hook up to the stock tac…or what? any help would be great…
thanx,

Are the pink ones coming from the bulb?

possibly, the wires come from the tac and the light but they are covered in this plastic stuff…i think its called wire lude or somthing…and they all of the wires are exposed together so i can’r reallly follow the spacific wires to their location…
if they are from light what does that mean?
help,
dan

if they are for the light then there will be no backlighting at night unless they are hooked up. Hook up the power /ground and see if there is a light on. if there is then they are not for the light. if there is no light on then and since they are both pink you can try:

Hook the wires up to the dimmer red and red/blk. it shouldn’t matter which one goes where if the are both the same color(pink)?

Is there a seperate plug for the shift light?

Did you try the website of the maker for instructions?

i bought it from someone here…it wasn’t used though…i know that the tac does have a back light…i dn’t recall the maker of it eather…and since i’m in floriday and my car is in OHIO…i can’t run out and check…what have the wires been on the other tacs you have seen…this is a monster tach. with an external shift light…its has changable red line, and recall…if that helps any letl me know…
