ok so yesterday i was driving. i came to a stop sign, pushed in the clutch to slow down. all i hear is a clunk. my car doesnt want to go into gear, so i pull over to the side in neautral. i realized my tach stopped working too. so i tow it to the shop and they tell me its my clutch fork that broke and they cant look into the tachometer problem without fixing the clutch, can anyone tell me what else could have happened to my tach? if its too much to fix im selling this car thats why im asking here instead of having the tranny fixed first
kinda weird that the tach coincidentally went out at the same time. if i were u i’d double check the wiring on the distributor and such. look for damaged wiring, or bad connectors, etc. if that all checks out check out the end that goes to the cluster. and probably the only thing that broke with the whole clutch assembly is the throw out bearing spring thing.
ok well i got my car back. a new transmission and new clutch kit later. my tach works, so i dont know what happened. ill keep an eye on it. thanx for the response
