i own a 1993 GSR and when i turn the car off the tail lights stay on the only way ive found to turn them off is to disconnect the battery which is a pain. any ideas on what it may be? it may be from water damage because if i can recall it happened after a storm.
Might be the switch on the pedal that’s stuck.
Need to know if it is the tail lights, [park lights] or the brake lights, do the front park lights stay on?
If it is the brake lights then it is most likely the brake light switch plunger stop, common problem on older Honda/Acura. 94
check your brake switch. you will need to replace it.
yep. brake lights- the brake light switch plunger with is sometimes on the floor if that is the issue.
It’s not the plunger that ends up on the floor, it’s the plunger stop. 94
Look on the brake petal arm there is a small hole that the brake light switch plunger is sticking through.
Quick and cheap fix: superglue 2 pennies to the back side of the arm to prevent the brake switch plunger from activating the brake lights untiil you press ther petal. Or you could go buy the rubber stopper from Honda / Acura.
so if it were just the running lights what could some of the problems be.
