ok… i just replaced my battery and had the alternator checked (14.65 volts)… this was about a week and a half or so ago… the other day i left my lights on for about 30minutes to an hour… and it started right up with no problems… today i had a 3 hour long class and afterwards it took forever to start and i was afraid i would have to jump it… now i dont know if you guys remember but the time my mom put the club on my car in the school parking lot i disconnected the sparkplug wires from the distributor and after sitting there for like 2 or 3 days i plugged them back in and it started right up like new, but if i hadn’t done that it would have taken forever after sitting idle for a few days… any ideas what could be drawing power from my battery?
what aftermarket electronics (stereo, vtec controller, gauges, etc) do you have installed in it. if you have something like that, it would be the first thing i would check. also disconnect the battery entirely and check the voltage on it. though you just got a new one it’s possible that it has a weak cell and needs to be replaced. is it cranking slowly or is it just not catching?
