I have a 90 LS Integra i just had it rebuilt well partial rebuilt any way with new seals and rings and all the same pistons so like re ringed any way when i got it. The car was fine now its been about 5 days the car is knocking it sounds like it tapping but i know it cant be that b/c the oil is at full could something of come loose i thouhgt it had something to do under the valve cover, It really sounds like its coming from there. I dont know why, it doesnt do it at idle only at like 2700rpm or 3000rpm and up i dont know what this is i have the oil at full b/c its been goin down alil bit since i got it home so i check it like every other day. and its not pinging either cuz i run 93 gas i know they say you shouldnt go past 4000rpms for the 1st 500mi on a fully rebulit eng i mean i have about 130mi on it now and ive gone past 4000rpms maybe about to 5500rpm would that cause it to do that. I mean i dont beat it.But Ive opened it up a few times already never to the redline thoa.
try a valve adjustment first.
Ive had them readjusted when it was rebuilt i do not think my rings seated right b/c of the way i was driving when it goes but to them im prob gonna have it reringed again. Where my valves are when is like taller then the rest i think this is the problem i think the rockerarm needs tightened down more or something.
