I’ve rebuilt my motor and there was a problem with the pulley, i bought a used one from a scrap yard it seemed to look the same, but now it’s tearing my alternator belts up on the sides and making noise and driving me crazy, any ideas?
What engine do you have and what engine did you take the pulley from?
since you said they didn’t look like each other I’m gonna guess you have the wrong pulley
you either have the wrong pully or the alignment is off. take a straight edge and check pulley alignment

no, they looked the same. I have a 91 integra b18a and all i know is that the pulley came off a b18 non vtec, but i’m looking up the pulleys for a 91 and it gives me 13811-PR4-A01 and 93 gives me 13811-PR4-003 so i’m starting to think although they look the same to the eye maybe the altennator slot in the 93 pulley is a tiny bit smaller then the 91? I need someone to confirm that the 91 pulley is different from any other pulley or if anyone has tried swapping
Its possible that the grooves could be cut different also. Maybe go to the parts store and have a looksee at the belts for the twoo different years. i have never paid that much attention to the belts and pulleys honestly.

So I’ve figured out that the 90-91 & 92-93 pulleys are the same but the later model weighs less and are slightly different in length. I had wobble in mine and should have never replaced for the one with a better looking key-link. I’m sure it’s tearing up my belts due to bad or rough groves. I’ll just replace the pulley again and the alternator (5 years old now) and hopefully all goes well for my annoying belt problem. Does anyone have a lightweight aluminum pulley installed - if so what belt did you put on (size/part number) because I’m thinking of buying this (80 bux) instead of a stock (171.99) oem pulley and i know aftermarket requires a different size or style belt. I have a lightweight flywheel and i hate it to be honest, wondering if the lightweight pulley would make it even worse… or have the same effect as the lightweight flywheel, sux for dd/stalling/rpm drop
