Thanks, planning on doing mine soon. Just want to be prepared. Like the fabric you chose for yours, whole interior looks beautiful.
hey man, is that a jdp rear window visor? or a solar wing? lookscool. does it fit well. im interested in buying one but i still havent decided on which one to get
very nice. really clean. what paint? did u used? because i seen people paint the plasteics and after a while it starts craking and chipping.
Ominous: good luck and thank you. Nick: it’s some Taiwan made brand called HIC, well that’s what was on the sticker. I found on CL and snatched it up. It’s for a 3rd gen.
strictlyDA: I used a couple different products, dupli-color carpet and vinyl dye on the carpet. Krylon fusion on the hard plastic, with lots of prep, cleaning, some scuffing, blah blah blah
and SEM vinyl dye on the soft stuff, the visors, headliner molding for the sun roof, ect ect. I’ve been a pro painter longer then I care to remember, so I might have gone a little over board
with the prep and set up. I did this swap last winter, and those pic’s of the car were taken yesterday. Thanks for reply.
Your interior looks better than new lol. A job well done Shane.
Thanks hayate. Have fun in Japan, bring back some goodies that the rest of us can drool over.
car looks really good, i did the same thing to my carpet, i just need to do my headliner, like the fabric choice looks really good with the rest of the interior, thumbs up to you, you like in wa? havent seen this car rolling around yet
Down south my man. I don’t really drive it that often since the weather here sucks most of the time. Thanks for the kind words.
nice work, Shane! didn’t know you did all that when we met at the show!
Well I was trying to keep it kinda stock looking with a little custom touch. The biggest thing is that, doing this project made me get off my ass and do the things the car needed. While the interor was out I rewired the whole stereo and alarm, installed power lock motors for keyless entry, fixed the cowl leak and fixed the temp controls. I wished I had taken more pic’s cause I did alot more than just throw some fabric in.
Since the meet I did the skirts, visor and rear wiper delete, it’s been kinda of a snow ball effect. I got alot more to do before next summer. So stay tuned.
By the way I see your selling the stock wheels. Is the teg getting parked for the winter or are they just taken up to much room in the garage?
Keep on truckin my man. Thanks for the reply.
nice job! looks brand new!
im jelous at youre clean daaaa. well, if you ever become lazy again, you can always help me rewire my sterio and fix my climate control lights
Hey thanks man. This thread is getting alot more attention then I thought it would.
Nick: no need to be jelous, remember this isn’t my DD so I can tare it apart and take all the time I want,
a luxury alot of people don’t have, including yourself, Pretty much any time you wanna come down I can help
you out. 253 212 seven 0 three eight. Give me call, work is kinda slow so I got lots of free time. I just wish I
some extra cash. I’d be busy replacing the whole suspension but right now I don’t have an extra grand sitting around. :blah:
yeah man, the wife is not really into the rare wheels! whats funny is that it’s already jst a hundred without tires and people still want to lowball!LOL
the wife really likes to drive the car so its daily driven rain and all! actually i drove it to work today…haha
since you did your power locks, possible helping me out on that? wife complains about it.LOL
Sure thing my man. Does the car have an alarm already? I sure hope so. If so it’s not that bad to do. From what I’ve gathered you drive truck out of the lot off Spanaway loop rd?
Well I just hope wifey doesn’t slide into a curb with the DR20s, this winter is supposed to be nasty. Shit I had to drive my teg in the rain today, I was pissed. Oh well, that just means two hours
of cleaning the next time it isn’t raining. Black cars, love’em-hate’em.
yeah, it already has an alarm. i just need to buy the power locks/actuators right? thats what they are saying about this winter so i might just put back my stocks back on… my work is just around 112th on spanaway loop rd and most of the time i will cruise that road to spanaway first before heading home and you know where i live! just the oldschool minitrucker in me! HAHA
let me know what i need to do the the locks. thanks man!
Yep actuators, two 15ft spools of 16 gauge wire, red and black, any mobile audio store will have the actuactors or online, a metal coat hanger, most people don’t have a fish tape lying around. oh and a willingness to be in uncomfortable postions for a while, and a few wire terminals.
Yep I lived in Spunaway a few years back, know that road well.
If I had a mini truck you’d be helping me with that. I wouldn’t mind having an old chevy short wide layed out on some bags though.
I realy like the material you used for the headliner. ive got some questions on how you did your door pannels. Do you mind if I send you an email later to go into the specifics?
No problem man. Your build is f%$#ing epic by the way.
Haha. Thanks man, I’m glad you enjoying it:up: ill shoot those to you sometime soon
