Teggykid Running Log *New Wheels*

Well, it’s their car, it’s like going up to someone’s face, slapping them, and saying “Yo Mama”. lol

Though I do think that fartcan’s got to go.

at least he didnt put the muffler onto the car. so i think. first pics show it already on. if you, the OP have not noticed how loud/annoying/raspy that exhaust is, then it’ll just take you time to appreciate a nice tone. or once you hear it from a car passing you by, then you again hear yours, compare. then you will more than likely want to switch it up to a nicer exhaust.

and before you say exhausts are too expensive, you can find nice exhausts ranging from $200 - $450 on the regular by searching around.

wheels & steering wheel = you’re young, you’ll probably go through a couple of cheap wheels & steering wheels before you appreciate the real stuff. then you’ll see why people spend so much money on parts like them.

i see nothing wrong with rocking cheap wheels, as long as you’re not trying to fake the funk & trying to show them off.

“-Supposed upgraded internals ready for boost”

i wonder what the person who sold you the car was trying to say…

haha, everyone hates matt on t-i?

They hate me because I give my opinions I guess

Eh, shit happens if it’s someone’s whip.

You don’t have any temp sensors, do you? lol

for everyone then, i haven’t even drove the car, so i don’t really know how it sounds yet. the last time i heard it cranked was about November of last year. if the exhaust sucks, then i will put the money out to get a good one. as for the steering wheel, once again that was already on there. i’m hoping to get a momo wheel because the adapter and hub are already there (i think it has a hub, you can use stock right? i guess thats what the “adapter” would be for). i don’t see why you said i have no involvement in the build. i have been there everyday my dad has gone to help sand all the parts so we can hurry up and get it done (i don’t mean rushing the process, simply getting it to steve so he can start blocking/priming then paint). and Sikauto i really don’t like the OEM wheel “style”, it’s just not for me. yes, i wish i could have gotten better wheels, but i may get rid of these later down the road, but for now they serve their purpose, and yes i actually like them, i didn’t just buy them for a temporary thing, that would be a waste. for eveything else, its whatever, its my car, i see it no way childish, and i don’t think i should have a power goal just yet, right now the only thing i have done is wheels and paint, when i get all the engine problems and body good to go i will decide on a power goal and probably switch out a lot of those parts, but for now, i’m just worried about getting the car home.

they hate you cause your car is MaD JdM Y0!!! tHy B j3aLoUs !!!

When i first joined G2IC i got alot of negative comments and harsh opinions on what i wanted to do and looking back at it i laugh cause they were right but i learned from them and now know 110% more than when i first came into the honda world just stay positive and learn from mistakes your getting there your only 15. keep up the good work

i second this… when i came here i was so made fun of because the harsh reality is i just thought i was cool… well the the g2ic world its cleaness and fitness not rice, noise or anything like that…i like my car simple and clean… now… i used to want big rims a body kit all the CRAP… people here are going to be honest with you thats all… its your car you make it how you want…

lol, i ALWAYS knew i was going to end up with a Honda (Acura had never crossed my mind when i was younger) because they are cheap and i always saw all the possibilities with them. and don’t worry about body kits, i grew out of that the first day on T-I and this sites, LOL. i know i’ll probably end up getting parts that are cheap but i try to get whats best with the money that is available. the point i just really want to stress is that aftermarket parts on the car were already on the car, i did not purchase them! there, i feel better knowing that that is out there nice and bold. and turns out the IM is not skunk2 but some off brand… something. that was a real let down for me because, as you know, that is not a cheap part to replace. i don’t know if i want to get rid of it and junkyard one or just stick with it for now till i can get a better one (way down the road).

but here are my priorities in order!

1.) new hood and front and rear bumper
2.) new steering wheel
3.) new carpet
4.) new seats (there is a guy that i might be able to get some from)

thats what i NEED for now, also, even though i said i wasn’t going to address matt anymore, i am rebuilding the motor. i’m not building it up with a bunch of upgraded internals, but if i find aftermarket internals that are unfamiliar i WILL have pics and i would like opinions, and if the parts is cheap, i might be able to replace it either with OEM or aftermarket (as i understand Eagle is a good brand?). oh, and the reason for the rebuild is because we have to rip it out anyways to paint the bay, so we figured while its out we’ll find the oil leak, we think its the oil pan (i think thats what its called) or maybe a head gasket? we’ll find it once we get to the motor, which may be next weekend because we finished sanding all the doors. thats it for now i guess, at least until next weekend (or maybe this week because my dad has a day off) so until then any other questions/comments?

an oil leak doesnt mean having to rip into the engine.

if anything, clean everything up, (degrease everything) and while the engine is still in, run the car for a good 10 - 15 minutes. so you can pinpoint the oil leak. so u know what you’re fixing before you tear everything apart, and having to spend $100+ on gaskets alone.

also, replacing the intake manifold, is there smog regulations over there? for automatic B18A1’s, the intake manifold has a EGR valve, which recirculates exhaust gases back into the manifold. if you replace the intake manifold, you will also have to replace the header, and modify a couple things.

forgot if it has any electrical circuits which it may disrupt also.

i too went through many ricer months & stages here on this website. i had tons of critisism, but nothing too bad. the guys kinda let me do my own thing, and see how things turned out.

and hey, i guess i have a not half bad car in the long run eh?

yeah, sorry i worded it kinda wrong. we are gonna run the car while its in and find the leak, but we are probably gonna go ahead and replace a couple gasket while we pull it apart. the main reason is to get it out for paint (the bay) and my dad is actually looking into a new “home powder coating gun”. basically you put it on like a grill rack or something, wire it up so it grabs the particles, and put it in the oven at 400 for 20 minutes. once you can hold it in your hands its ready to go! i think the kit was like $200? not too bad and it comes with the everything you need, like the gun and a bunch of different colors. but we were thing maybe just getting a complete gasket kit? any brands you recommend? and about the intake manifold, yeah, that’s getting into stuff i don’t really know yet, but like i’ve said, i’ll cross that road when i get there, lol. and it already has an aftermarket Intake Manifold and a DC Sports header. is there any way he bypassed that valve?

ALSO, did anyone notice the gauge cluster? i’m just may not be familiar with is but my car has an “S” gear? i have no idea and i never saw anything about it when looking at other g2’s

OEM Honda kits

ok, i didn’t know if there might have been anything better, but i guess that would be fine, hahaha

Hey, try not to take everything said to heart here. I think all of us go through a sort of ricer phase when we are young, but then we slowly grow out of it and get into cleaner, more functional mods. Like everyone says you will look back and laugh at some of the stuff you thought was cool, trust me! Either way, keep on doing whatever makes you happy!

^^ i try not to be a ricer, and i dont think i am, but i’ll make a mistake here or there, but thanks for the comments

UPDATE

Ordered the front bumper, rear bumper, and hood. they are supposed to be delivered to Steve’s shop tomorrow. my dad has the day off so he’s heading up there. since they are already primed they just need to be blocked a bit and they are good to go for paint! total, from what my dad mentioned, was somewhere around $600-$650. more money gone, but it was necessary if i wanted the car home anytime soon. dad’ll probably take some pics tomorrow, motor should be coming out in the next couple weeks or so! gotta find that dang leak first!

i have to admit, i totally missed your comment. like i said, i don’t like the OEM style, of wheels that is. i really dont think i’ve ever talked shit about anyones ride, at least on g2ic or T-I (i didn’t say anything about the ricers on youtube, LOL). usually if i don’t like something i’ll just say that i dont like it and ill end up adding something along the lines of “but its what you like not me” so as to not come across as an ass. and yes, it is pretty much a sponsor car for Rockford.

i was thinking of putting a sticker of the name but i’m not sure what to do. i don’t want like a big ass windshield sticker across the top, but i don’t want something small in the corner either. i want something noticeable but not ricey, any ideas? and this is not to “show off” what i have, but simply that people know that it is, in fact, a demo car. i just want some opinions i guess, i may not do it though. *i just thought maybe get Steve to like airbrush it like a tattoo look or something? just a thought.

UPDATE

We went and worked on the car this past sunday. We kinda finished sanding the door jams on the driver side along with the quarter panel, took off the door seals/things and the little silver things that hold them on. We also cranked the car up too, after running a compression test (when i got home i looked it up and we didnt do it right, forgot to hit the gas, LOL. we have never done one before) and spending $80 on Bosch spark plug wires and NGK spark plugs and stole a battery out of steve’s s10. found the oil leak, its by the oil pan (we think its the gasket) in the front because smoke was coming up where it was leaking on the down pipe and burning. what else? the exhaust actually sounds pretty good!. i know what the ricers sound like but this actually has a nice, deep tone and doesnt get raspy as you go to the higher rpms. it actually looses the deep tone and gets almost quieter. we took a video of it on my dads cell but on there it does sound like ricer, lol. anyways, thats about it, we didn’t really get much done, only a couple cell pics since we forgot the camera and its nothing new except some sanding on the side, ill port them when my dad gets home with his micro sd card.

well it turns out i had a couple more pics, you can see the new wires (they are red) and what i looks like now. cell pics! yes! ha, no.

pic fail

sorry, moved em w/ out thinking about that, hold on

EDIT there we go! pics fixed
