the temp sensor is right under the distributor right?? the small single prong connector? now i just got a mechanical water temp guage and the probe is supposed to go into that temp sensor hole, but the connection for the probe is too big for the probe. where else could i locate the water temperature probe???
Check out : http://www.nipponpower.com/gauges/greddy_miscparts.html
That is the easiest way to add a temp guage sender to your car. You just cut the top radiator hose and insert the Greddy adapter. The Greddy adapter is threaded in metric for the Greddy style temp probe so if you are installing an Auto meter temp probe you will have to get the adapter rethreaded in standard.
thank you!!! any idea what size i need???
only one question: there isnt always water/coolant in the upper radiator hose, will this give as accurate a reading as being mounted in the head???
Go with the 34MM. The guage will work after the thermostat opens. Just remenber that it is tapped in metric!
i got the metric fitting from autometer…so it should work
would it be smart just for me to remove the thermostat all together?
2ndjenn-- do you have instant messenger??? mine is brocious10 if you have it… you seem to know alot, i could use your help sometimes

I would leave the thermostat in. It only takes the motor a minute or two to heat up and open the thermostat. I don’t have instant messenger but just shoot me an email at jeffcoll@ages.com . That is my work address and I check my email every few minutes.
alright…thanks for the help!!
