The ever elusive Hybrid DA suspension Article

it will fit but you have to do some things… for the front, you will need to get the forks off of a dc/ ek. for the rear, you can do the following if you will be using the 96’s rear springs with the 96’s rear shocks…

are DA and DC front shocks the same length?

I believe that in the first post it said that it was shorter, or the OEM were the same hight but the DC were thicker diameter…

A DC front shock with a DC spring on it creates pretty much the same ride height as a DA front shock with a DA spring. The overall length off of the vehicle may be slightly different. The main difference is just the rear ones where the DC rear setup is going to sit about a couple inches lower than the DA setup.

do you guys know if EJ civic coilover sleeves would fit on a DA?

Does anyone know how to ID the front drop forks??

I just checked my suspension for the first time- I have some cheap ass blown KYB GR2s with Skunk2 springs… the reason i ask is because the drop forks are red (maybe painted by the last owner?) and i do not know if he already did the drop fork upgrade to the DC/EG type.

i want to get some better struts/shocks (most prob for the DC/EG) and was wondering if i would also need the forks

BTW- my fork on the driver’s side has “KL” on the facing out toward the wheel…

If it has a KL casting then it’s a DA fork. VL/VR would be DC/EG

Excellent! Thank you

Got the EJ drop forks with Bilstein HD DC shocks and a ground control kit. Got the ground control upper mounts for the front too. Ill let ya know how it goes.

So my buddy just bought the Function and Form Type 1 coilvoesr for his 92 4dr. the fronts went in fine and is quite low and is near as low as it can go, but for some reason the rear is WAY too short and with the coilovers maxed out at full length, the car is still lower then the front. The part numbers seem to matchup correctly for a DA9 chassis, didn’t have to swap to civic forks or anything. Anyone run into this problem? how do you guys get away with mounting civic/94+ teg rear coilovers on without it being ridiculously low?

Thats how much skunk pro c’s were… listen to this. The pond off the EF chassis coilovers for our cars. Maybe that manufactor too?.

I called skunk2 and they told me to just extend the back all the way. I told them they are and the car is bumped. If I unscrewed it anymore they bottoms would fall off. Only on about 4 threads from falling off, really unsafe. There is a hole in them and they say to not go past that hole when unscrewing, i was WAY past that hole and the rep told me I was fine. Yeah right… holding on by 4 threads and I road race my car… I asked what kind of business they running over there trying to pond off coilovers mad for an EF chassis for a DA. He couldnt answer me so I had to extend them myself by welding about 2-4 inches to them… I will never recommmend SKUNK2 products again…

So I be F2F are the same since they all are the same pretty much… all made over seas in same factory…

my suspension at the moment is a tein HA setup meant for a DC integra. i am running da forks and itr rear lower control arms

What upper front camber kit will fit onto a DA?

^^^google that statement.

On another note, the 4 door rear sway is bigger, but energy suspension rear sway bushings only come in 15mm and 16mm. So I’m, assuming the stock hatch bar is 15mm, and 4 door must be 16mm?

I can get the 4 door bar for free, and it’s easy to change, so why not.

Ok I’ve read almost every single page of this thread and I’m still not sure on the answer to my question. Will DA Ground Control coilovers work on DC/EG Koni yellows and Tokico illuminas?

I found a guy on Craigslist with the Konis and Illuminas and have a trade agreed on but want to make sure my DA ground controls are compatible with them. Thanks!

I have read every post in this thread and I’m pretty sure my question has not been answered.

Are the USDM DA rear lca’s the same as USDM DC rear lca’s? I have heard that they are the same length but where the strut bolts on, the DA lca is bolted on more inboard (towards the middle of vehicle). If this is true, what effect does it have vs being bolted on more outboard?

Sumillshit, the DC/EK and DA LCA’s are all exactly the same from my experience. I’m running DC Koni Yellow H&R sport kit with BWR Ver. 2 LCA’s and everything bolts in perfectly with no modifications (save for the front forks, as everyone already knows).

Front forks read VL/VR and are narrower than the DA forks in width but still clear the drive axles without rubbing at all.

The only problem is that you will have to zap strap the brake lines since there is no welded bracket to bolt them on to. Other than that it’s one of the more simple retrofits anyone can do.

DC/EG*

The EKs are longer than the DC/EG.

Anyway we can get the original pics back? I’m looking into converting to DC coilovers purely for the much better selection.

somebody on facebook was telling me that crx forks are 2" inches shorter than da ones is this true?

So I’ve heard the stories of people putting on their eg/DC shocks and using da Springs (for the correct rates) and having the rear sit quite a bit lower than the front. I’ve also heard of a few different methods to correct the height difference, I was just wondering how bad the difference is and if anybody may have pictures of their da on eg/dc shocks with just drop Springs, no coil overs.
