The ever elusive Hybrid DA suspension Article

I should be able to put my DA suspension on my EG then with no problems right? I have Tein SS and want to put them on my new rig

^ If you use DA front forks, it should bolt right up. Just remember that since the EG suspension is about a couple inches shorter in the rear, so you will need to lower the rear a couple of inches. So, if you want the same ride height as on your DA, you might want to make sure you have that much adjustability.

From reading from start there are almost no pictures

So I thought I would provide you guys with some pictures.

I recently picked up a Da and now I am trying to take everything I can from my EG and put it on my DA.

So My ITR LCA’s and Buddy Club N+ ITR SPEC Coilovers are coming off the EG and on to my NEW DA.

I will post pictures Saturday for everyone. I am really hoping they work cause these Tein SS coilovers are way to soft for me :werd:

when you say “drop forks” you mean just stock forks right? not aftermarket ones?

My EG got stolen on 10/31… they haven’t found it either :frowning:
Bone stock EG too… :*(

Maybe someone should edit the first post and explain that eg/dc struts should only be used with coilover springs and perches so they dont end up driving a da/db that looks like its doing a willy(lower in the rear for dumbies). Just my 2 cents cause it would have saved me a lot of money and time(like on these crappy dc konis i bought). hopefully it will help someone else before it happens to them!

just making sure i read correctly.

im picking up a set of DC TEIN SS coil overs from a buddy of mine for next to nothing.

so for the fronts to work all i need is the dc forks.

and the rears will i need to get different lca’s? or can it go direct onto the stock lca’s on the da?

Should’ve gotten some GC coilovers instead of wack KSport springs .
People actually prefer using DC shocks for slammed setups, since they are shorter. Also your rear camber looked pretty ugly so I’m sure that had a little to with that. You have clean 4door though , just get the set-up GCs and you’ll be good to go (keep your DC Koni set-up!)

As long as they aren’t for an ITR then your rears will bolt right up!

the car came with those crappy k sports, i installed eibach sportlines. If ima install coilovers it will be teins. Im not looking to do a big performance upgrade just looking to get a good stance and ride so my wife can learn to drive. But the incomplete advise posted this thread is missleading and needs to be updated so it doesn’t cause any more members to waste their time and money on bad advise. Updating the info would be the right thing to do.:werd:

oh and the dc konis are getting sold to a friend and ima get some kyb replcement shocks. Not enough shock travel with the dc konis and eibach springs in the rear.

It has been stated in here by me and others that if you use the shorter rear struts, it will sit lower in the rear unless you have some way of adjusting it. I know that I also discussed that you don’t want to attempt to use DA springs on DC struts or DC springs on DA struts. This also not the end all thread on this subject, as it has been discussed thousands of times on this forum. With almost any hybrid setup, you want it to be adjustable. Many people love Koni Yellows and often use the DC version, but most of them are also using Ground Controls or some other form of adjustable coilover sleeves. A hybrid setup like that can often be cheaper than and even outperform a full coilover setup. Also, the answer or information you may be looking for is not always found on the first page of a thread. If you want more pictures, there is an entire thread filled with suspension setups here: http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154601

so i was talking to my buddy that i was taking the dc tein ss’s off of.

his setup wont be arriving till later on in december, so for now will my da’ shocks on tein s tech’s work on the dc if he uses the da’ forks?l

i understand that the dc stuff will work on da if i use the dc fork, is it the same with dc’s if they use da’ forks.

I believe they will fit, but the rear will probably be higher than the front since it will be just the opposite of the DC struts and springs on a DA where the rear is lower than the front.

ya as long as it fits is what matters
he just needs something to roll it in and out of the shop he wont be driving it during the winter needs body work.

so temporarily i guess well have to try and see and ill mention it here how it goes with pics if anyone is interested

Good luck and hope to see pics since most are gone or don;t show up anymore

I got a set of Tokico Blues (Hps) and FK Automotive springs from a friends eg hatch, i got the forks and everything, but i was wondering… since there not adjustable, will the rear sit to low, or much lower than the front? think this will be too much of a drop? thanks!

P.S. i have no idea how much of a drop the springs are, im guessing 1.5-2" which = 4 - 4.5" drop, anyone drop a da/db that low and not have issues? (besides camber… lol( thanks! i would like to know soon asi want to get them on asap!

soooo, i came up with a ghetto solution for the "my rear dc full drop springs are too short for my DA problem…i put coilover sleeves on the rear, threaded them all the way down ( by putting the sleeves in upside down), and used them to make up the height difference in the full drop springs in the rear. after that, i just adjusted to suit. i was running the setup for 6 months with a two finger fender gap with absolutely no problems and with a pretty good ride ( on tokico blues). after taking them off, i checked for any weird wear on the coilovers and noticed nothing at all. this would be a good fix (IMO) for those who are stuck with some DC springs and don’t want to ride dumped in the rear.

im guessing it will by the previous posts, but no comments on this?

yes. they will most likely sit lower in the rear.

sooo, the civic 96 suspention will fit?
