Ok I bought one I thought it was supposed to fit like perfect without having to fall out easy. Well this one I bought fits but looks like it can just fall off with a push of my pinky or lighter object. I even told the eBay seller and he even claims it aint the real one. The piece I have is rubber and came in oem Honda bag. Anybody else bought this useless crap since he claims he sold 5000 of em. What you think of it if you did? Also anybody got the real piece since he said it is metal.
Order the parts from a 92 Civic CX hatchback, not the rubber grommet style ones that people sell. The one from the CX is metal and bolts into place, it won’t budge. You can find all the parts you need at your local dealer and you can look them up at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com This topic has also been covered extensively on this forum :search:
Should be number 13
You know its the same plug you have on your firewall right? And i had one and it never fell off mine I didn’t had to use glue or anything
So then we would need 13, 12, and 15?
That diagram looks different from what I remember. You need #13 plus a washer and a small bolt. You can reuse the rubber grommet that’s already there after you remove the wiper motor.
Here’s the civic plug on password (does not seem to include the washer or bolt) http://passwordjdm.com/HOP-EG-Hatchback-Wiper-Plug--P2461C77.aspx
Here’s the spare one I sold recently.
I believe the smaller washer was already there from the wiper motor, but I forget. It’s not needed since the cap can sit snugly on the rubber grommet and it’s fine like that. The bolt you need is a really common Honda bolt, if you have spare hardware laying around like many of us then you have tons of these. They are the same ones that hold a lot of items to the firewall, secure your fender to the chassis…etc
Oh yeah I forgot password had them. Doh. But thanks Colin and znano… I should have done some deeper searching. I just wanted to ask and see if what I had was the real thing. The eBay seller told me he had the real ones too but said they cost $50. I’m like WHAT…
Now I got me a new firewall plug. Yippie lol. $14 smh when I had 2 already from the junk yard lol.
Which plug in the firewall? I see nothing that looks like it would work.
It’s below the throttle cable hole I believe like a few inches away. The plug is about a 50 cent piece size I think. That’s what the people on eBay are selling and claim they work well. Which they do not. I prefer what Colin had up there on the picture.
