This close to the election and no threads yet?

You’re right its closer to $3000 adjusted for inflation. When i lived in dallas in 05-06 i was paying less in rent on an 800sq ft apartment than my parents were on the 660sq ft apartment they rented in a shitty part of north jersey from 81-83. Much of Tx is Nowhere near the cost of living of nj. We could get into a pissing match about $16,000 property tax bills on 50x100 ft lots 3 seconds away from the ghetto, or how my car insurance went down $900/ a year during my stay in tx but whats the point. On a happier note I found out today that a rival company has bought out the majority share holder of my company and by 1/1/13 i’ll have either a signing bouns or overly generous severance package. Looks like i have medical coverage either way.

More than anything I just want the freaking TV adds to stop. Those make me not want to vote for any of those people.

So how would you quantify your level of caring, given that it’s not at the absolute minimum? :stuck_out_tongue:

hahaha…shit sorry for not using totally proper english…and to the rich boy in jersey if u make so much money why the hell are u bitching about it? anyways im done with this thread, i feel like im on honda tech

Werd!

in retrospect I wonder if they will enforce the obama care insurance penalties on veterans… I mean I get my care through the VA… so why on earth would I need to pay into another insurance plan is my thinking…

No wonder you aren’t worried about your future.

he doesn’t have one.

it’s been discussed before, but the consensus is his asvab was somewhere around 65 or so and his recruiter made him think that was good. :giggle:

retired at 24 = couldn’t cut it in the army, so they “retired” him so he wouldn’t be their problem anymore. seen it plenty of times, and with as much as i’ve had to work with the army, holy shit you have to be just slightly above a coma patient in order for that to happen.

If I were “retired” at 24 with statistically 2/3’s of my life remaining I wouldn’t be counting my chickens before they hatched, unless of course the bulk of my retirement money was in stable low-risk financial products or I could become completely liquid within 24-72 hours. The last entity I’d want corporate sponsorship from is the federal government, especially in a down economy when every politician is promising cuts of some sort somewhere.

Not to mention considering the VA as AWESOME health care. If you have had your leg amputated below the knee, is it two, or three VA doctors you have to visit before you find one that will acknowledge that you are actually missing a limb, and not just experiencing a sprained ankle?

Where am I bitching about making so much money? is this that difficult for you to grasp? I have insurance now. My employer said that they would not be offering insurance if the new healthcare laws were upheld. I , and millions of other americans, make more than 400% of the poverty line, which isn’t very hard even working at a place like burger king, so the “low cost medical insurance plans” offered by the government are not an option for me. I’m now forced to find coverage on my own in a state known for insane insurance premiums on a good day. Clearly I should be voting for someone who doesn’t back the new healthcare mandates.

actually armedferret, i was MEDICALLY retired for having a real job in the military unlike a paper pushing desk bitch like you…as for my future i’m a full time student for automotive fundamentals and performance tuning…

as for my retirement pay it will never go down, the changes would be instead of a bigger annual raise like its been itd just be a smaller percent…also i get paid $1300 a month just go attend school…so for those of you who just keep trying to put me down good luck, cuz if you look at my build i’ve done a pretty fkn big amount of work in the last 10 months and my wife doesn’t even work and i have 2 kids and im doing just fine…

also my asvab score was 96, i had every job option available to me, but i CHOSE my job because it was a lot of fun and got to do some pretty cool shit…so im just nicely saying go phuck urself mr i think im a big shot paper pusher armedferret

Yeah he keeps going back to his “awesome insurance”. I have a “Cadillac” plan, because a group of 1%er doctors sit on the board that picks the plan for us. Singles are free, Insured plus a spouse is roughly $500/month , insured plus a spouse and child(ren) is $1000/month. It isn’t a cheap plan by any means. A co-worker’s wife just gave birth to kid number 2 and it was a very rough delivery with a whole host of complications. Kid is fine but mother and baby racked up some serious hospital time. Total out of pocket was around $12 (yes 12 dollars).

I just want coverage and I am not opposed to paying for it. I’d just like to not have to choose between paying for health insurance or my rent.

i do pay for my insurance yea its only $38 a month but me and my family can get any medical treatment at a place that accepts it and any prescriptions and oh yea, no bill at all

gotta love how politics bring out the :gayfight: in everyone… :corn:

I know this can be difficult in a thread based on our federal government and an upcoming election, but please keep the BS to a minimum. For the most part, we’re all adults. If the thread can’t stay reasonably civil, the thread disappears. Legitimate debates of candidate plans and policies are fine, and arguments/disagreements are to be expected. But, let’s be adults about it.

Real easy for me…I work in Social Service so most of my clients well all of them suffer from a mental illness. Head Start and most other programs my clients rely on will be cut under Gov Romney so my vote is for President Obama.

Probably because the White House wants to completely gut the ever-loving SHIT out of Tricare for retirees and those who are service-related disabled, AND increase the rate to nearly 5 times what it currently is.

Invest in Vaseline. You’re prolly gonna need it, and they damn sure won’t provide it free of charge.

they want to raise the tricare ENROLLMENT fees for veterans, if your already enrolled its not a big deal, it for the people who dont pay and get dis enrolled and when they have to enroll its gonna be more expensive

Typical army attention to detail. Maybe read the latest bill again. Might learn something.

nope dont have to, cuz as i said i dont care…im retired and a full time student and now my wife is running day care at our house…whoever wins wins, sure shit wont change anyway, also done talking to u chair force grandpa, i realized ur just like all the shit talking kids on honda tech and this forum is better than that…
