Threw codes 7, 8, and 14

I am so sick of sensors.

i just wanted to know if anyone has had experience with diagnosing the tdc sensor. I am really dreading having to replace the distributor and kinda hoping that its something less expensive.

I just replaced the iacv with a “good” one this is the third iacv i have replaced with the same results.

how can i test the iacv? I have already jumped the connectors and heard a click on all three. But I still get a code 14.

Oh and i forgot to mention the cel is not on. These codes are stored in the ecu and i have reset it several times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well i opened up my distributor today and its full of brown dust and everything inside looks like it has been under water for a year. All the bolts to the cap were tight, and I don’t see any cracks.

Now i’m waiting for the pb to loosen up the rust holding the rotor button on, hope the coil is still good.

Bought one of these today and i’m going to use my icm and coil from the old distributor.

Looks like it will do the job.

UPDATE

So the ebay housing didn’t do the job. Turns out that that housing is set up for a icm that has bottom mounting points rather than on top, so no go.

I did however buy another distributor, this time the whole thing cap rotor and all. Put it in and it started right up! woohoo!

One code down and two more to go, TPS is next.

Only one code down? i thought 7 through 9 were distributor sensors, either way good job on clearing up that one. I had an CEL 8 and i took the sensors from a td-44u ( civic sohc ) Distributor and swapped all the sensors and wiring into my old distributor, all i had to do was splice one wire for the coil. If you need any help i have a few pics of it (loki9_5@hotmail.com)

Yeah, I know i’m slow and so is ups. Money sucks too.

4, 8, and 9 are distributor sensors.

7 is the TPS.

And 14 is the IACV.

Thanks for the idea I might try that in the future, might as well rebuild one for a spare.
