Today i was mesing with my spare TB that i need… Because my curent one has the idle adjustment screw jacked up… Well i noticed with the plate closed, and with the TB up next to the sun, i could see some light shining through on the edges of the plate… meaning some air could get in… My question is… is this normal? Or is it out of round… and air could leak through?
To my knowledge it should be ok because you wouldn’t want it to have a perfect seal. Even when You let of the accelerator there is still a need for air in the engine or it would mess up. Also if it sealed perfectly all around it would be kind of hard for the butterfly to move because it would scrap the wall and bind up. As long as its not too big of a gap you should be fine. Remember more air more power less air less power.
