Throttle Cable Fitment Issue B20 Motor???

I recently installed a JDM B20B hi comp version in my car, I ditched the obd2 manifold and switched to a obd1 ls p75 intake manifold but I am having the following fitment issues. It seems like the throttle cable is too short even after adjusting the nuts on it. I have the throttle cable bracket for a pr4 intake manifold off a 92-93 DA and the 94-95 p75 throttle cable bracket and both seem to short. I am sure i’m overlooking something prob simple, but every motor I have installed in my car has been a vtec motor b16 or gsr and have never had this problem. Any help would be appreciated!

Are you sure nothing is in the way of the cable near the pedal and that it is the original? Maybe something is in the way of the cruise cable pulling it tight. I have a obd1 p75 intake manifold on my b20 and it fits, I just need a p75 bracket.

I don’t think anything interior wise on the inside near the pedals is in the way. I can check when I get home, anyone have any other ideas on what it could be?

Idiot Moment LMAO!! Just walked outside to compare to my DC2 daily driver and found the issue why the cable
doesn’t fit, the throttle stop is turned too far to the right, needs to be on the left side closer to the intake pipe.

err… nice…
I was just going to say that. honest.

yeah I bought the intake manifold combo with the throttle body off a dude on ebay, dunno why the throttle stop is turned the wrong way, hopefully I can flip it around tonight without any issues.

It actually looks like you have it through the wrong guide. I haven’t been around mine yet, but I think the cable should be on the outer most guide

Yeah man, it looks like you have it routed wrong.

if you look in the second pic it has a aux throttle cable bracket in front of the throttle body. kinda looks like a aftermarket bracket for bigger throttle bodies. your going to have to reroute your cable.

well after looking at my DC2 throttle stop the little guide piece is at 9 o’clock which is the correct position it’s suppose to be in. Mine on the b20 is at 3 o’clock, so I need to switch the throttle stop around 180 degrees. Can that be done or is the throttle stop made to fit only one way for each different throttle body?

The b20 and b18 throttle bodies have slight differences. I don’t even think the way your cable is routed in those pictures will open the throttle body.

The way you have your cable mounted looks like it is pulling in the wrong direction. Like it’s on the wrong ‘track’.

If I recall, the throttle plate turns counter-clockwise… the way you have it routed is pulling it clockwise, ie, the wrong direction.

I mean, look where the cable is sitting… the bracket would rub a groove in the cable, being where it’s at now

Every B20 swap I can find has the throttle cable routed UNDER, where your pictures show the cable mounted OVER.

yeah I get all that, my issue is the throttle piece the cable attaches to is positioned the wrong way, is there anyway to switch it around so I can run the throttle cable under instead of over?

Hmm… I don’t think you can just flip it around.

I think either the cable needs replaced, or the components on the TB need swapped.

that’s what I was thinking, I pulled apart the original b20 throttle body that came with the swap, looks like the throttle stop can’t really be switched around like you said. I don’t like half-assing stuff anyway it always comes back to bite ya in the ass lol. Luckly a local DA owner is parting out her car and has a oem one, so hopefully that will set everything straight.

Sweet… I was going to say, I probably have mine laying around somewhere.
