throttle cable

ok let me try to explain this:
i press the accelerater
car goes
let go of accelerater
but car still accelerates

what the hell could be wrong?:
-loose throttle cable
-the flap thing in throtle is stuck

thats all i can think of
any help or replies would be greatly appreciated

may sound stupid but, could be floor mat is on accelerator. this happened to me when i had my probe. doesnt hurt to check

he he, you had a probe…my buddy’s ram got probed once!!! it may be your throttle cable sticking above the intake manifold…check out the whole cable and the pedal assembly.

check the linkage around the throttle body. The vaccum lines are very tight underneath there. Maybe one is hanging up on the throttle linkage

That happened to me once…I greased the throttle plate with WD40 at every pivot point I could find. Problem solved for now.

It was pretty violent for me. The throttle stuck wide open. Before I realized it was stuck, I shifted; and when in neutral, the rpm’s rocketed to redline and just sat there bouncing off the rev limiter. I’m glad it was a cheap, easy fix!

throttle cable

damn man, that must of been a trip
but my PVC or PCV hose is pretty bad (soft and a little hole i think it it) could this be the problem?
