I am doing an engine rebuild and detail and I have lost my throttle rotor, I noticed Weapon R’s throttle rotor and the claim for quicker throttle response, has anyone used this before or is it a bunch of crap for me to spend my money? The great knowledge of the members of this forum would be appreciated:bowthank:
BTW should I just get a stock rotor?
Get a stock rotor.
I bought one of those rotors, it’s still on my car, but I dont use it.
I still kept the throttle cable connected to my stock rotor.
It does make your acceleration response quicker, but it also stiffens your gas pedal too. I stalled my car twice because I couldn’t level it out.
A stiff gentle tap on the gas pedal would send my RPMs all the way to 4K.
I’d say it’ll be good for track use.
By the way, that rotor only slides next to you stock one by the way, so you’ll still probaly need your stock rotor.
I was looking into buying a rotor. It makes your gas pedal alot stiffer?
^Yes, smaller rotation.
Here’s an example:
Which point would be easier to move?
A. would be the aftermarket
B. is the stock
In simple terms.
To get the black line down to the green line, Point B would be easier to push down on, but have to travel a little farther.
Point A would get you there a little faster, but you would need to push harder.
My circles are a little off from the center, but you should get the point. Hopes this helps.
If you wanna try it yourself, then you can buy mine. $15shipped
Did you like using it? or did it get annoying cuz of how stiff the pedal was?
I test drove with it a few blocks, came back, then put my throttle cable back around my stock rotor, then readjusted my throttle cable again.
My car is fairly loud, so having my rpms rev to 3-4K at every stop before I take off got quite irritating. Like I said before, I stalled a few times, which sucked. It was either that or do a little peel out. Sucked either way.
I’m sure I could have gotten used to it after some time, but it just wasn’t the same as stock.
Sorry to but in, but I’ll take that rotor if he doesnt.
Sure thing, I’ll let you know (email) when I take it off.
