Looks like I need to get this stuff replaced + 1 front coil spring
I dont know what Im doing to
I had the rotors replaced last year now sears tells me they need replacing…
CV joints replaced last year. need replacing
I dont know if its aftermarket parts or what
anyways
my car shakes a lot on breaking
sears also said my car needs new inner tie rods
where should I start
what parts should I buy
any of this can be done in my driveway?
OK, I just checked things out underneath the car. The driveaxle going into the tranny, which is guess is the transaxle?
is diffinetly leaking. It has been for a while. cant notice anything else underneath. Sears told me the tie rods needed to be replaced, how can I inspect them to see… the car does shake while slowing, could that be the rotors… cause apparently there gone too.
anyways if anyone can tell me what to look for when inspecting
Rotors
Tie Rods
CV Joints - the car is clicking on turns(this could be transaxle?)
coil springs

rotors = when warped causes shaking during braking. this can be resurfaced 3 or 4 times during the life of each rotor (usually resurfacesd at each pad change). i think like 12bucks if you take it out, maybe 30-40 if they do it. can be done on driveway. need long breaker bar or something for leverage.
tie rods = not sure. leaky boot? not straight > shaking? (little one)
cv joints = larger rubber boots. ripped open, grease spilling out, causes clicks on turns- sign of immediate attention. change the whole axle out, its about the same as getting just the boot replaced. can be done on driveway, need breaker bar.
springs = i imagine just one corner would be low. you can inspect it jacked up. excuse for new performance springs? can be done on driveway, might need breaker bar, or just a long torque wrench, maybe spring compressor from pep boys (free rental) dpending on new spring. 2-4hrs.
