Anyone have some good sugestions as to what kind/brand of battery is good?(without paying an insane amount).
Believe it or not, I’m still running on the original Honda battery, but it’s definately getting near the end of it’s life. any suggestions? Thanks!

I’m thinking of Optima Battery (red top) relocated to the trunk. But those are about 350 or so CAD.
I’d go with an optima for sure. I’ve got one of the Yellow top ones and I haven’t seen anything out-do them yet. The Yellow ones are deep-cycle where the red tops aren’t. Much better if you have a stereo in the car…don’t have to worry about damaging the battery if you kill it. I’ve seen them around here for around 300 CDN…for the yellows.
Yeah… I just put in a red-top optima from Pep-boys for $115 (us) and it is PIMP! There are two sizes they carry for red-tops… make sure you get the right one (smaller…I forget the group size). I would feel a little wierd putting in a deep cycle battery (yellow) unless I was using the car in stereo competition or something…
If you want the best look here, Optima’s are trash!
marc, what do you think of using the odyssey pc680 to power a daily driver? i think this is the one that i will be getting. will it hold up ok?
if not, what is a good size genesis to run?

The Genesis batteries are Odyssey batteries with out the fancy consumer label. Same company, same construction. The size you are getting should be OK or Genesis G42VP if your looking to save weight and dollars. If you want to run a big radio G70XP but you won’t be saving much weight.
Marc, are there any local places that sell the Genesis batteries? Do you know how much they usually run for? Thanks!

Yes, their is a place in Burnaby that sells them. My hard drive died at home with all my bookmarks and I can’t remember the name off the top of my head. When I get my computer back up I will let you know.
