Well Im keeping the B16 tranny.

But first thing being. Well if you look at the #'s
A b16 at 300whp has about 180trq

Where as a ls at 300whp has about 260+trq.

I loved the fun lil revving motor. But just alot of lil things.
IDK. I might go back. I might not. We’ll see.

But for now A ls with B16 tranny will be a bit faster
than the B16 swap.

the answer to all your questions. use the stock ls pistons to keep your compression ratio in the sweet spot, vtec for top end power.

ls bottom end for respectable torque numbers, pickin up the slack that the turbo won’t have on the bottom end. vtec for top end power (aided by that snail of course), and the b16 tranny for stupid accelleration. (though i’d swap out some of the gears for LS trans gears, as that boost is going to get you through those gears alot quicker, and you’ll run out of top end speed with the b16 transmission) thats my opinion though.

why the hell would u want a ys1 short tranny for a boosted ls motor. you want long gears

no fib i really like your car so do not take this the wrong way but every time i click on a link BAM! your car. I think i’ve seen it a few too many times at least for the time being.

I agree, short gears for boosted cars suck. Technically it might be slightly faster than a longer geared trans but its really not going to make that big of a difference (atleast not nearly as much as it does on a N/A car). And thats only in a perfect world. Really traction is going to be your biggest problem with boost so adding a short geared trans is just going to make things that much worse. I’ve driven a boosted civic (12psi, ~ 270whp) with a short geared b16 tranny and it was lame as hell. You seriously had to shift that car every damn second. By the time your letting the clutch out in one gear its practically time to shift to another. I hated it.
