times help!!

what can i do to help improve times at the track? i have an auto and did power brake but still to no avail my best run i did a neutral drop and ran a 17.311 with a 2.514 60ft what can i do to improve 60 ft times so i can get into the 16’s?

i figure with a 60ft of 2.2 i would have 16’s WHAT CAN I DOOOO!!!

Don’t do neutral drops if you want your tranny to last for more than a few times. What mods do you have? Just make more power would be the easiest way, since you can’t improve your driving much with an auto.

well im getting ready to start working on things for a turbo setup but im trying to improve times as is. do you think if i got some lighter wheels would help over the gs rims.

have CAI tanabe racing medallion exhaust. denso irridium plugs and timing is at 19* running shell 91 octane.

i only did the nuetral drop once. and im gonna try using ebrake as well. im not gettin tire spin. im just stuck

higher rpm when doing torque braking?

it wont go any higher than i believe 2800. im gonna try using ebrake and different combos.

what would cause me not to be able to power brake any higher rpm?

Your torque converter.

Haha yeah you can upgrade your TC to a higher stall. That’s big money though. I think we can do high 16’s with I/H/E though.

i have intake and exhaust but im going turbo so no header. shouldnt the stock stall speed be around 3500 though?

weight reduction.

the cheapest upgrade you will ever have.

i had the entire rear stripped.

Well, your rear bench weighs about as much as a pillow does.

i also took out spare and subs and all took out floor mats. what else can i do take out passenger seat. but thats a bitch. im going back to the track the 27th and will get a lot more runs in. im thinking about taking my powersteering and ac belt off.

No, taking out the passenger seat is about the easiest thing you can do. You could bring one wrench with you and do it at the track if you wanted.

ok well ill have to see about that what else do you suggest?

I completely removed my power steering (put a manual rack in as well) you could always do that. It honestly didn’t help my times much though.

what if i got some lighter wheels like steelies lol. cuz i have the heavy ass 14" 6 spokes. are there any other places that do work like level-ten but cheaper lol.

I doubt your wheels are that heavy. Don’t let steelies fool you, they are made out of steel and will likely be heavier than any factory aluminum wheel.

ok well im just trying to figure out what i can do to improve times seeing how improving performance is slowwing wayyyyyyyy down due to unexpected bills.

Pretty sure the stock stall speed is 2600.
