timing belt blew

It’s been awhile sense I’ve been on this site. I know I know I need to get on here more and maybe meet a few of you folks in Utah. Any ways I blew my timing belt on the freeway and didn’t realize it and tried to start the car again. I’m taking the head off this weekend and taking it to the machine shop. The head is all ready to come off but my headers and manifold are too big so I need some help taking it off so I can just lift the head up and someone can take the headers off as well as the manifold. Any ways I’m sure a valve is bent because before I started taking the head off I replaced the timing belt and it started but ran like crap. Any ways I’ll post some pics later but was wondering the proper way to re-install the cams? This is a ls vtec build that is NA. I’ll post some dyno pics maybe in a different form. lol

There is a fair amount of information in the Honda manual (I only have the PDF version that I downloaded for free), Section 6.

On the car I am gradually disassembling, what was done appears to be this: the exhaust header was unbolted from the head, and stayed in the car. The intake header, intake manifold, fuel rail, w. the throttle body and anything attached to it, was then separated from the block and lifted out. (with head and manifold attached, not very heavy. Then I just separated the intake manifold from the head on the bench. not hard at all, really, and what you have left is just the head with the valves/springs etc.

edit:

What I mean, is that if you follow similar instructions, it is really a one-man job, no help required.

Unbolt the header from the head.

Unbolt the header from the cat/test pipe.

That will allow you to slide the head forward and completely disconnect it from the head.

Pull the harness and drain the coolant.

Pull the intake tube.

You can pull the whole head and intake manifold at the same time if you’d like. Or pull the intake manifold, then pull the head.

funny you guys say that. So my fuel filter is not even an inch away from my manifold that’s how big the mani is. I have to lift it up to pull it off. I just didn’t want to take all the hoses and throttle body off the mani if I didn’t have to. Also the headers hit the fan as those are big. I can probably get the headers though as there is more play with that. Coolant is already drained and you can lift the head off so far before stuff stops it from coming off because of the lines ect. I’ll just have to undo the lines. But yeah I should be taking it off this weekend for sure. I’ll post a picture when I get offf work
