I pretty sure i’m changing my water pump this weekend, but that thing that worries me is putting back on the timing belt, cause i heard if your one tooth off it’s over, so please after seeing br and dan fix kolins and robbies car i need help!
Get yourself a manual. Haynes is ok and runs for about $15 at an autoparts store, Helms is the best but is about $60. Hardest part in your procedure is getting the crankshaft pulley bolt off. You better have a remedy for this before you start. Good luck…
well i gotta be gentle with it i heard those things are really soft, so ill try to torque it off and grease it up, but i really need help putting the timing belt back on
Definately get a manual or someone to help you if you have never done it before.
You will want a manual to see what you need to do. The hardest part is getting the belt on while keeping the top and bottom ends in time with each other.
One tooth off wont kill your motor, but it will make it run like crap.

Btw, change your timing belt while you’re in there, if you haven’t planned to do so already.
Piece of mind, and save you doing the exact same labour over again when you do decide to change it. (better safe than sorry!).

PS: Get OEM Acura… less than $60 or so.
get the manual for sure. Here’s a fast breakdown.
Before you pull the timing belt off, turn the crank around a couple times to get an idea how tight the timing belt should be (look at the timing belt when turning)
first off, put the belt on the crankshaft, through the water pump and the tensioner. Then put the plastic cover on, and then the pulley. Line up the cam gears so the arrows point up, and the grooves in the teeth of the gears line up (read manual). The camshaft holders closest to the gears have a hole in them, which will line up to holes in the cams. Put a drill bit or punch in this hole to hold the cams. Line up the white mark on your crank pulley with the arrow on the timing belt cover. Slide the timing belt onto the gears, loosen the tensioner, turn the crank just enough to take the slack off the timing belt and tighten the tensioner. Pull the punches or drill bits out of the cams, rotate it once around, seeing if it is tight enough.
Read your manual for more detailed info.

Look at the VTEC Cam Install Guide in the teg tips. Although your car doesn’t have a VTEC motor, putting the timing belt on is the same. And there are pictures to help you along. Good luck.
hey dan ar ue sure there’s pictures? cause all i see is a doc file
There are pictures inside the doc file. Wait for them to load, it takes some time.
just use whiteout and mark the teeth and the gears as well as the gear on the crank. crank it around and make sure it still matches and after that just slide it off. the marks will make sure u dont miss a teeth. i hope you have a giant impact gun for the crank pulley bolt, hehe. good luck
