Timing belt noise

Hi, i changed my timing belt recently as i was replacing the water pump, my father in law gave me a hand, he is a 2 stroke mechanic.

As far as we know it was all done properly, but since then, about 3 weeks, there has been a noise at idle and also when driving, it is more noticeable when accelerating. kind of like a whirring noise, or a little like a supercharger.

Is there somthing wrong and how can it be fixed?

Thanks.

The car is 1990 LS JDM
B18A 5spd

the 2 things that jump into my head are a loose belt or a bad bearing. The water pump bearing could be bad (not likely but possible) or it could be the tensioner. Also check the accesory belts for wear and tightness. An automotive steshescope (not a Doctors one, that will blow out your eardrums) would be the best way to track this down.

i have the same problem too, been like this for almost 2 years

If you over-tighten a timing belt they can make noise.
