Timing belt snap...need some advice.

Last week I was driving about 55 mph and 2700 rpm and all the sudden my engine quit and rpms went to zero. I did not hear any noise that sounded engine destruction, although I did try to restart it once before I knew the timing belt was broken. What the chances are I will be ok with a new timing belt or if the b18a is trashed? I have not pulled the head, although all the valves and rockers appear to be ok under the valve cover.

Uh, do a compression test? People have had a perfectly fine engine after snapping a timing belt, others haven’t been so lucky… We aren’t going to know by guessing… Do a compression test.

fire a new belt on as per procedure and cross your fingers. that’s what i did. twice

Unfortunately, I am not doing this job myself due to time constraints. The person I have working on it should know tomorrow if it will run, although he is taking way too long.
