Actually, This idea came from [DAMNIT], But i did it to mines and they look great, so Here’s the how to and what you need
Window Tint film: 20% black preferably
scissors
and your stock hazey bumper lights (did it on a 90-91, but could probably work on 92-93).
Clean the lights with soap and water and dry it off
So what i did to mine was i got the film pulled it out to just the length of the lights.
Then took the clear plastic off the film so its sticky and apply it to the lights, Then with the wrinkle marks just pull the film up alittle bit and the wrinkle mark should pop out, with bubbles use a credit card or squegee to take them out.
then cut off the extra film, Dont cut to close to the film, then press the sides down firmly.
Now you will notice you covered the holes for the screws… with the sharp edge of the screw, Poke it through, And with your finger press the film against the plastic, it will look like you messed it up but you wont notice it once you put the lights on the car.
Heres how it should look when your done and have it on the car.
And this is how it looks when they light up for your blinker/Hazards
P.S… I prefer the film over paint because the lights show through more clearly and looks alittle more ambery when lights up
Here’s 90GSTeggers DB1 (and my DB1 before tinting), Although these are tinted with spray tint it will look kinda the same just a shade or 2 lighter
I want to tint my taillights. I tried window film, and it just didnt work out.
I can get spray tint, but I would rather have window film so I can always peel it off, although I can remove spray tint window film looks much cleaner. The spray tint is about $9
yea i heard the film doesnt work on tails :danger:
Here’s an update on the bumper lights: The one’s in the picture arent there anymore, I couldnt see them in day light when blinking, So i re tinted them in lighter tint…
The top bumper lense is 35% and the bottom one (darker) is either 20% or 5% im not 100% sure…
