Tips for removing stuck crank pulley bolt?

Yea I tried smacking it a few times and didn’t get any results. But I never really got a strong hit off so maybe ill try again.

I let it soak in a full can of wd40, some pb blaster, and some liquid wrench last night. Still nothing lol.

Patch I took a chain pliers to mine and it stayed in place pretty well. I got it off with a big ass breaker bar. Try standin on the bar and give er nuts.

Lol thats what I ended up doing today and still nothing. I put a chain wrench on it and me and a friend stood on that side while my 350 lb co-worker bounced up and down on the breaker bar trying to loosen the bolt.

I don’t even need the pulley off anymore, I’m just trying to break it loose for entertainment at this point.

yea lol. That sucks dude. I’d just keep on trying with an impact.

When you tried the chain wrench did it slip or did it hold things tight? Another option is to block the flywheel in place like THIS

Removing the pulley bolt sucks w/ the engine out of the car because in addition to applying a ton of torque you also need to find out how to hold the engine in place while doing so…

If all the standard ways mentioned in this thread don’t work then your only real option is to use an extremely powerful impact or very large breaker bar. 3/4" drive stuff… shit they use to take buses and other huge vehicles apart with.

Nothing moved with the chain wrench. Pulley/engine stayed still, breaker bars stayed still.

I tried two 7 foot long cheater pipes. Still nothing lol.
